How easy is it going to be to cram a big fukk off turbo setup in that engine bay?

That grey looks good, nice choice.

You're going to do the rest of the car to match?

Same. Last time I lined up with a R35 unknown mods on 405 and I popped into 3rd to get the boost up and noticed headlights that looked like a crown Vic so I blipped back into 5th real quick and the GT-R thought I was dipping so he jumped and got pulled over right away.

The turbo is actually almost the size of a factory turbo but supports 660hp. Turbo tech has come along ways. The hardest part will be making the exhaust downpipe clear the AC compressor

I was thinking about it. It's fairly low key. Otherwise I would probably do Java Black Pearl from Subaru

Mazworx head studs showed up, these are quite a bit more expensive than the standard ARP SR studs due to being a design exclusive to them. 200 plus shipping for 10 phucking bolts which is crazy

Full dog point on the bottom to distribute force, and the threads fully engaged the entire block threads. The old versions from ARP would pull right out due to only using half the threads.

In addition it has a much higher tensile strength at 220,000 vs 180 for standard.

Also got some dress up cup washers to see if I like how they look.

I understand lol. It's different. Id say probably a year or so. I'm not rushing and alot of stuff like the control arms and the fuel system are at least 3 months out.

People might remember my old viper blue turbo 200sx out near Rancho where people would street race.

Was worried it was going to be a honda when I saw fwd, the VET is an excellent choice though, if I had go to sr I'd choose that as well. Is this going to be a drag car or similar, why are your rear spring rates heavier than the front?

It will be a limited use street car and roadcourse car

The car has a rear beam so anything that can be done to stiffen up the rear end will help combat understeer. It seems counterintuitive however the best recipe is higher rear rates and doing whatever I can to combat Bump steer and lower the roll center up front.

2J offers a panhard conversion to get rid of the Scott Russell Link but I have to bring the car all the way to Georgia for that

Good to know you are a fan of VVL, they are seriously good motors with a huge aftermarket.

Excellent work OP.
Love that you are actually able to do the mods yourself. Half the battle there and saves heaps of $$$.
Also handy if something breaks down - you know what and where it is.

Dig the colour - Im assuming the grey was fresh out of the gun hence the shine? Will need to mega clear coat those flatter colours to get the pop.

I see, I've never really dabbled with FWD so wasn't aware of the unique suspension setup. I always have a Nissan project car of my own on the go so I'm keen to see more pics of your build as you progress.

Not sure how I feel about these cup washers. They are strictly cosmetic but I'm okay with em. The other bolts that are shown but are critical such as front cover bolts will be flange bolts

Got the head torn down in 15 minutes once my damn valve tool showed up. After talking to Mazworx and showing them my plans they actually advised against the CNC head program. They unshroud the valve but they also machine down the quench pad. That doesn't help much with detonation resistance as it's more designed for super high hp drag cars and short spurts of power not high rpm sustained racing like I plan on.

The head will go down to a local machine shop for a resurface and hot tank then I'll do a lil bit of hand porting and call it a day.

I've been dabbling with these cars for 15 years and have had all itinerations. 10 second drag car, small turbo daily, high compression stroker VVL, NA motor with a 150 shot etc. Can't seem to get away from em for long

Head was dropped off, bay got the base down finally, got a couple of runs so I had to sand down and reshoot which I wasn't planning on. The Envirobase shoots wheel but the recoat times are either within an hour or you have to wait about 48 hours.

Tomorrow I'll mix up the clear and shoot that

Engine bay pretty much done. Got a couple dust mites in it however considering I'm doing this in a fairly windy carport using a makeshift sheeting wall setup I'm happy with that.

The things I'm not happy about and ran Into a standstill...

-Head at machine shop almost a week.
-ordered Supertech springs and retainers- didn't ship for a week and finally they responded that inventory was off and they are on order- 4 weeks out. Cancelled order, blacklisted em and reordered from a different vendor.
-turbo manifold.......went to Loveland, CO and not to California. Not sure what the FUK happened there but I'm filing a claim with USPS and working things out with the vendor
- gasket kit still not here.... ordered over 2 weeks ago and still not here from Japan land.

I feel like the universe is out to fuk me right now. I'm not in a hurry but seems like everything is going wrong right now.

Only other positive is my 450lph E85 fuel pump shipped out

Modding a stock harness. Tearing out wires I won't use at all like EGR, coolant temp gauge, IACV etc. Route it tucked, depin it, then make it pretty

Last part of the head ive been waiting on. Ordered it from powerhouse motorsports and waited a whole week before they told me they didn't have em. Reordered them from Sport Compact Warehouse and had them in 1 day.

Literally ordered them yesterday morning. They will get more business from me.

I ended up getting the whole kit with the titanium retainers since they massively lighten the entire upper cylinder rotating assembly.

Plus they look baller

Started the jobsite back up so no real updates. Finally got the head back from the machine shop,

Fukhead neighbor complained about me working in my car in a carport so instead of fighting with him I decided to rent a 10x20 storage unit to build the motor in. I'll be moving tools and parts in tomorrow.

I've been dealing with this neighbor for a bit now, late 50s early 60s, everyone hates him, lives alone, TV dinner for one type of person that bitches about everything on Earth. The final straw came when he called the cops on the 5 year old neighbor kids for "vandalizing" his sidewalk with chalk.

Long story short I couldn't control my temper and basically got into it with him so he started finding lil things to **** with me. I'm about to report him to IRS and immigration for hiring illegal day laborers for his business and paying them with cash lolol.

Hopefully after this lil ****show is done I can start making some progress. And coilovers are finally slated to be delivered tomorrow
