For example:
the wall will end illegal drug trafficking.
The cartel will simply go through Canada.
Statistics: the cartel has indeed used the canadian border to bring in drugs & engage in human trafficking.

I agree, unfortunately. That's where I think China get's away with it, I've read that the CCP leaves people alone when it comes to Civil life, but if you speak out against the state regarding domestic or foreign polices, that's why they come down on people.
I do think that however, that freedom is still something that people generally value, especially after they experience it. I think that we are in a 'boiling frog' scenario, where a lof people don't see how insidious "the new normal" slogan is... This is not normal, and IMO it's dangerous to try to encourage people to think that it is.

To the first part, yes I think you're right about the chinese being more obedient and that thankfully, people here openly oppose certain policies. But what do you think the government would gain from total control, when the people are pretty much already slaves (heavy taxes, consumerism, etc) to them?
To the 2nd part about freedom, I agree that in North America there are still a lot of people that value liberty and that is hopeful. The problem with freedom is it comes with responsibility, hard work, and other traits that are becoming a bit more scarce nowadays. In my recent experience, the people I meet, and a few of my social circle, mostly put comfort and pleasure above the former values. Maybe it's coincidental with the environment I've been in, but who knows. I do hope that people who value freedom over comfort aren't in decline.

The kind of people who will flee, won't be looking for a recreation of their old life. They will be the kind of people who will embrace simple living.
Smart City technology does not require the users to have internet in their homes, nor smart phones. Have you looked into the kind of tech that is used in smart cities, regarding energy grids, facial and thermal cameras, smart lights, etc? They don't require the citizen to possess anything, in order to function.
(Smart city is just a name. The technology can work outside of cities.)
Again, Smart cities do not require anything. But they have a benefit for corporations and governments... Surveillance, data gathering, control.

Its not practical. Smart cities will only occur in tech hubs/major cities. The fact that you have a computer/ the internet leads me to believe you really aren't 'that' concerned about government monitoring your activities.

I actually agree with Ex champion boxer David Nino Rodriguez, that this is a time when we are all collectively capable of questioning things, due to spending so much time in lockdown.
I have seen what I think is a growing number of people questioning the MSM and official narrative, despite their attempt at ridiculing and suppressing it. I am hopeful.
What I think may be a catalysts for revolt, is the coming economic depression. Even in Western nations we won't be comfortable anymore, we may trigger people questioning officials and mainstream narratives more.

I don't think you read my posts.I very clearly laid on the problems, in post #2.
The problems are way beyond if I care about them spying on me as an individual.
I use an Ad blocking and anti-tracking browser/software from AVG.
A VPN (when I sign into things that I haven't already used my current IP on).
I don't use a smartphone.
I refused a smart meter.
I always refuse all cookies except the necessary ones.
Again though, this is beyond the indviduals. Please take the time to read my posts, you'll see that it's beyond any individual fear of being watched, this is about the greater implication for society.

Also, you can't simply look at statistics to determine your political values or philosophy, or cultural analysis. That requires far more than stats.

My comparison to the environment and avocados was just that most people like to talk about issues, but don't want to put in the effort to solve said issues.
I guess if you were able to paint it as slavery, people would follow. I personally don't think, in these days, that enough people are willing to sacrifice their comfort, but I could be wrong.

I don't know why you don't see the problem in getting stats from the government, as if the Government has never lied. There is a reason why people also like to consult indepenant sources, alongside government sources, because governments are not always trustworthy or accurate.
For example: States sources denied mass surveillance. Edward Snowden revealed to journalists that not only was mass surveillance happening, but it was happening on an unimaginable scale. When Barack Obama said "the government is not listening to your phone calls" he was outright lying, he wasn't mistaken, he was outright lying.
Weapons of mass destruction was a lie (which non state sources says it was), and Ghaddafi massacring his own citizens was a lie (which non state sources says was a lie).

The problem with independent sources are lack of citations, confirmation bias or biased studues/stats cited, thus, looking at opposite opinions as per my original statement on how to critically think & avoid eating up propaganda.
Transhumanism has fuk all to do with the topic at hand which was using statistics to prove an opinion to sway which way to vote.

I would guess a VAST majority are against this "new normal" that is trying to be forced upon us, but also have a pessimistic attitude, thinking they are powerless. So you meet up with family, friends, go market shopping, ect. Surrounded by people following orders only because it is the least resistance for their daily activities.

I don't know why you think that government sources aren't free from bias, when we've seen historically that they aren't. Have you honestly never looked into government lies? It may be eye opening for you. There was a time when the state said that DDT and Agent Orange were safe.
Transhumanism has fuk all to do with the topic at hand which was using statistics to prove an opinion to sway which way to vote.
Transhumanist topics like bioengineering, genetic engineering, and a neural lace, will be growing issues. If you want to see something that is a transhumanist topic, check out this video from DARPA. It will blow you mind. This is real technology in 2020, that is being put into people's bodies...

So again, how would numbers make the decision for you if this is path and technology to allow or support through legislation? Strictly based on numbers, with no philosophical inquiry regarding ethics, politics. Basically how would you use strictly numbers to make the decision if you want to see the extinction of the human race as we know it, to usher in a population of post-human cyborgs?

If they all realise our power lays in our complacency (ie. Disobedience) and sheer numbers, they could do all the same daily while disobeying [ie. Standing up for our liberties], all while ushing in a better future. It really doesn't take much action, quite the opposite actually in some instances.
For what it's worth, I think that my lifestyle isn't complicit to what's being discussed in this thread and my end game is to buy a plot of land in a small community in which I can be self-sufficient.

There is undoubtedly an agenda to herd people in to city centers, where they will live in an absolute surveillance state, easily controlled and manipulated using technology.
The result will be a consolidation of power that will eventually lead to a one world government, perhaps within our lifetimes.
Ironically, the only thing that can save us at this point is technology.

I am not what people would consider a conspiracy theorist, but I enjoy exploring the different plausible outcomes for the future and talking about what could possibly be going on behind the scenes every now and then. In my experience, most people are very close minded whenever I bring up the topic of government control. Mind you I'm not trying to convince them or anything since I myself don't know for sure what's true and what isn't, it just makes for fun conversation once in a while but it is almost always met with negativity.

There are even things people can do right now, to change things e.g. Stop using Wifi, oppose 5G to your local representatives, using anti-tracking browsers, etc.

lol @ people ITT saying you're safe if you live in a rural community
Satellite internet is already incredible, you can be anywhere on planet Earth and get a good connection, unless you're under water.
With Elon's Starlink, it's going to be even better.
You don't think our drone technology is virtually from another planet after 20 years bombing cavemen while they hide in their tiny cave hole openings in one of the most uncivilized and disconnected countries in the word?
You could view your driveway from Google Maps in the early 2000s, and that's PUBLIC
You think you can run from this? Good luck, boyo. The time to change this was years ago, circa WikiLeaks coming out and telling us we're all being monitored 24/7. It's too late now.
Only answer now is to conform or get thrown in the gulag

We can stop 5G.
We can stop using Wifi (like Edward Snowden says, every time you sign in, it maps your phone location. Which anyone can view on sites likehttps://www.wigle.net
We can refuse to use Smart tech (e.g. Smart Meters).
We can start implementing counter-economics (e.g. doing non-state sanctioned trade).

Julian Assange told everyone 6 years ago what was happening with “When Google Met Wikileaks”.
There has never been any working solution offered, ever, to the very simple question that has haunted every grandiose theory about how society should be organized: who watches the watchmen?
This is why philosophy matters. Assuming there is no answer, and it’s inevitable to have unaccountable watchmen, then the best that can be done is attempt to ensure that our watchmen are moral, freedom-loving people.
Contrary to what Marco Rubio says, then, philosophy is the most important domain of inquiry.
A populace without a philosophical grounding on the founding ideas of this country, which men believed in so much 250 years ago they died for them, is doomed to not understand the fragility of their freedom, and as a consequence of this ignorance, bad watchmen will assume power.
And for the present philosophical ignorance endemic to our society, we partly have the public education system to thank. But we also have ourselves to blame. We don’t love freedom enough. We don’t have enough gratitude for the founders of the country. We deserve what we get.

My mind was blown by the first 60 pages, to realize that the notion that Google is a private company is a fantasy. On paper they are, but in reality they are in inseperable from governments.
Both Big Tech and the Deep State have strong social engineering agendas. (I'm aware that anyone reading that without doing the research into Julian Assange's revelations, Edward Snowden's revelations, and Google Smartlabs planned Smart City in Toronto, may simply write that statement off as crazy).
You are right that he very clearly warned us that this is the direction society was heading, he very clearly showed us that a technological surveillance state was something desired by Big Tech and Governments alike.
Western society may one day look back and see how courageous Chelsea Manning, Julian Assange, and Edward Snowden were, because they took great personal risk to warn us.

Further, the minds of the masses have been weakened so much that the majority of people cannot asses information, and instead rely on mainstream media sources to dissect it for them. Then they are spoon fed the narrative and swallow it up whole.
At the end of the day, there's not much we can do IMO. Your suggestions may work on an individual level, but ultimately, it's a drop in the ocean and you will eventually get swallowed by the sea like everybody else.
Technology (perhaps A.I or transhumanism) may save us, a change in political systems (something new) may save us, or progress may save us when we are living in a post-scarcity society, but I wouldn't hold my breath for any of that soon. But I also wouldn't worry, bro. All is well, and everything will be fine.
