Nobody is waiting 14 days on a Form 4. I've waited anywhere between 4 and 16 months...there is no rhyme or reason to it. Some Form 4s get kicked off to "pending FBI background check" and nobody knows what that even means, considering it's basically just a NICS check.

IMO if you're on the fence about a suppressor, just do it. You're going to wait anyway so you might as well get the process started. The last can I picked up, I bought back in ~November or something on a whim. It was ready in 4 months...pleasant surprise. The one before that was 16 months. The one I'm picking up tomorrow was exactly a year to the day.

Maybe if the light was too close to the rail and the suppressor was especially big it would partially block the light?? I'm just spitballin here

When I use a can and light at the same time (especially a larger can) the bottom of the can cuts off the beam pretty substantially. It looks like a giant ominous dong at the top of the beam.

Apparently there isn't necessarily a rhyme or reason. Some of it is individual, trust, paper, e-file, form 1, form 4, differences. Some of it is they go in batches, or something...it's kind of a mystery but it is not a straight FIFO rotation

I don't have a lot of experience with either so I wasn't sure. None of my pistols have lights (I should probably get one on my beside gun) and the only suppressed gun I've ever shot is an AR

Form 1 is if you wanna make an SBR right?

Yikes that is long AF so basically I should expect it sometime this time next year? For a fcking metal tube.

Im already sold on it, got my USP45 specifically for it.

the reason I ask about light/suppressor combo is bc some suppressors have a larger diameter and may impede on a light that protrudes beyond the light rail

Yup, block it OR not even be able to be installed together.

I should probably just wait for the can, take the gun and can to a gunshow and try out a few lights.

I like surefire, all my lights are surefire but they stick out quite a bit. This would be my first pistol light.

Form 1 is anything you do on your own, so either an SBR or a Form 1 suppressor (where you make it yourself). There are kits available where you basically buy the components, drill holes in the baffles, etc. In the end, they end up costing almost as much as a Form 4 store-bought suppressor...the only advantage is that the approvals are much faster.

Tracking on your other post...that's going to happen with most suppressors tbh. Diameter is less important than length...if you don't want any interference, go for a short can. I went with the 9mm version of this because you can run it in either short or long configuration:https://ruggedsuppressors.com/produc...45-suppressor/

Your USP should be better off than most pistols considering you'll probably need a rail adapter to attach a light to the proprietary rail in the first place. Adds several mm of drop.

The replacement rail P80 sent me was supposed to arrive on 5/18 and the tracking has been stuck at "in transit to next facility" since 5/17. They mailed it on the 13th so it should have arrived. This is turning into a real pain the ass

lmao. Same ship date, est arrival date, and stuckness of my pmag order. Is there no notification to call customer service? Because I'm guessing your rail caught on FIRE. Won't let me view the tracking info now but it was somewhere in Illinois iirc.

Well, spent 5 hours this afternoon on the phone with Sprint and ATT because apparently someone was able to use my name, my old address, and phone number to place an online order for an iPad and an iPhone 11.

Literally filing federal forms, putting credit freezes in with each of the three credit bureaus, contacting people in India to explain to them that I didn't order this ****.

Also, the ****s signed me up for 80 different Federal, state, and local government email subscription services that I had to go through and unsubscribe. I have 120+ emails in my inbox from federal agencies subbing and unsubbing me to their nonsense. Fortunately I caught it before those subs started sending me emails or I would've never found the order confirmations with the numbers I needed to call ATT and Sprint to talk to a live person with.

Freeze your credit reports now fellow MFCers...

This is why I use Experian (free version), it shows me current open accounts, inquiries, reports from any credit issues, credit score, ect. Lucky so far, every time my card is stolen I just call Capitol1 and they handle it. Never had all my info stolen yet... Likely will at some point, probably from a leak at Experian knowing my luck.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.

What kind of delay is there on the info? Does it push alerts to you or do you need to monitor it?

I am positive your info is already stolen.

I get emails every time credit score changes, and when there are inquiries; you can set various preferences for alerts. The paid offers a lot more but most of it is stuff I wouldn't use so I stick to the free.

Seems to email me within a day or so of credit checks.

We've had ours frozen for years . . . ever since someone on my company's HR team fell for a phishing scam and emailed out personal data on basically all USA employees. Really hasn't been an issue at all and we really haven't had a need to open any new credit accounts. If I ever do, I'm sure it will be a hassle because I think I long ago forgot/misplaced the info to unlock. I'll have to jump through some red tape.

As part of that whole episode we also get discounted continued credit monitoring.

Experian and Trans Union were easy, Equifax just takes me to an error page every time.

Edit: Got it to work, had to go to a link from TransUnion's site haha.

speaking of which.....

went to get a new holster for my class as my IWB is really only comfortable for appendix carry. No idea so many holsters were made custom and take two weeks for fulfillment. Don't have that time to wait. So went with a bravo concealment. Seems okay enough for my purposes.
