Agreed. I got mine for MSRP though. The woman at the register actually hugged it and said it was the brand that got her into bourbon.

Tonight I've had Maker's Mark RC6, Elijah Craigh Barrel Proof A119, and Blantons. I can never make my mind up so I just have my buddy pick numbers from 1 to however many whisk(e)ys I have on my shelf and that's what I drink. In this case it's 1-34.

Honestly I've been vibing on the Old Forester 86 proof. It's relatively cheap but it's actually really solid for the price.

Finally got my hands on a bottle of OGD114. I've been seeing this getting a lot of attention in the various groups and thought I'd grab some. IMO, it's justokay. There are several others I would take in that $28-$30 price range over OGD114, but they are not 114 proof so that's the trade off.

Flavor wise, it's pretty spicy as you would expect. I put a couple ice chips in and it drastically improved the overall taste. More caramel, more vanilla. Call me crazy, but I prefer the $21 OGD Bottled in Bond over this one.

I got through a bottle of OGD recently and am going to start buying it more often - at ~$20 here for BIB proof it's a hell of a deal.

At 114 do you actually taste anything? I know even for me Wild Turkey 101 loses all flavor profile and is just alcohol at that point. I've never vibed on anything over 100 proof. I basically live in that 80-100 range.

Bro... I have some 136 proof Elijah Craig Barrel Proof and it's one of the tastiest bourbons I haveeverhad the pleasure of tasting.

Jam packed with caramel, cinnamon, and leathery sweetness. It's spicy but really, really damn good.

edit: from the previous page

Cant believe I got that bottle in January and still have 2/3 left. lol

My local Costco had liter bottles of Buffalo Trace for $35.
I'm going to snag one next time I go.
[img]https://i.imgur.com/jL0zGZK.jpg[img]
KC 9yr SiB is probably the best bourbon in terms of proof, availability, and cost. 40-45$, found on shelves nearly everywhere, SiB, and 120 proof. always have these on hand and especially the store picks of this which tend to be well north of 9 years old.

Picked up another bottle of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof over the weekend. Prices are up to $60+tax here in Ohio now.

Apologies for the size, still trying to figure out how to resize images from the Chromebook.

What are some good rye whiskies?
I don't want to spend more than $40.
I've only had the Jim Beam and Jack Daniel's ryes.

My favorite semi-local distillery, McLaughlin Distillery, has one called Devil's Juice. It's finished with toasted hickory wood and is quite literally like drinking a campfire. This guy continues to impress me and I would honestly choose his stuff over big name brands any day.

What do you think of Woodinville Bourbon? I live about 30 minutes (depending on traffic of course) to the distillery.
