if you gotta cry, do it around your boys or alone...

The only exception is a death/tragedy

which brings the importance to maintaining your relationships with a few men while you're in a relationship or married. I never understood why some guys cut everyone off but their woman, and then wonder why they're lost and alone once that relationship ends. Make women your world guysLMAO

Yup. Like a good fap, a cry can be done in solitude in a bathroom stall. Maybe I should have clarified before but "crying in front of other people" is, for me, something which should be fairly rare.

Not in a unit meeting where someone gets called out on their chit. I have seen it happen before - for that reason, not because the person is suffering from personal tragedy. I'm not heartless, but I do like composure at work.

Except in the bathroom stall.

My best mate can cry over the slightest hint of a break up with his girl. He sobs whenever he goes through that kind of thing. I don't understand how he does it.

This is so unbelievably stupid. I rarely cry but sometimes people just need to get their emotions out. If I've done everything else right by my family and sacrificed alot for them, you're telling me they can lose respect for me if God forbid I have a moment of weakness and want their support just one time?

I'm a fairly emotional guy, but not in the negative sense that the word typically implies. I'm extremely passionate and emotionally intelligent. That said, it's not difficult for me to tear up a little when I witness acts of bravery, self-sacrifice, people enduring extreme hardship, success in the face of great difficulty, etc.

I never sob 'like a girl,' but I am easily touched. That's perfectly ok with almost everyone.

However, women will often tell you it's ok to outright cry, but most don't actually feel that way. Women do, consciously or subconsciously, lose respect for men that sob without extraordinary circumstances.

I've been married 18 years and the only time my wife has seen me truly lose my chit was during my brothers decline in health and ultimately his death.

Nothing wrong with a man crying if a close family member dies, I think a breakup with someone you genuinely love would feel very similar- it’s loss of someone close basically.

I can’t think of any other scenario where a guy crying wouldn’t be weird. Girls I know cry if they’ve had a bad day at work, or if someone is unkind to them. It would be ridiculous for a guy to cry in those situations.

I can count how many times I've legit cried as an adult on one hand. Most were either family deaths, extreme rough times (homeless), or a monumental milestone in my life.

But all have been away from anyone else, I never show emotion like that to others around me. I do consider it weak if I'm being honest. Probably extremely unhealthy, but it's gotten me through rough times and i roll my eyes when I see people crying to me in general
