i did this with an ex.
i regret it immensely.

not because i regret the time we spent, that was amazing. but i knew quite early on it wouldn't work out. i enjoyed her company like other ITT have said but she wanted to settle down as she was older than me
I told her this, so she understood why. but i think she thought she could convince me it could work. but i never stood my ground and ended it

feels bad but i think she had a good time as well despite it sort of being a waste

We're not having kids right now simply because we're just trying to be responsible, trying to get a few things out of the way first. If we did accidentally have a kid right now, it wouldn't be the end of the world and would welcome it. So not as scary as it should be.

That said, been a few times when I very nearly busted inside, few missed periods, 6 pregnancy tests over the last 4 years, none positive yet.

You can marry with division of money and goods. Then you would only have to discuss the things that are on both of your names, which is mainly already paid 50/50 by both of you.

What do other couples have "to show for"? A divorce?

Good luck with your getting married young to a sloot and getting cucked down the road of 2020 and beyond.

My wife and I dated for almost 5 years, and then got married in 2016. This is one of those things you don't want to rush into.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Actually fully agree with this, and maybe it's different for everyone but I think the lack of commitment for not good reason is a red flag on behalf of either parties depending on who want / dont-want to commit.

I have a couple of friends that started dating their GF but right from the start they weren't that into them. Every year it always crossed their mind that they're going to breakup but one thing happens after another. Maybe the girl guilt trips them, they don't want to break the girl's heart, pregnancy, too many common friends, part of the family, get comfortable, guy gets fat and can't get other girls anyway (same for reverse) - basically, each year keeps passing by and they're together and staying together for all the wrong reasons, and because they know its for the wrong reasons, they can't fully commit.

Friend met his girl at 24, broke up with her at 29. Now she's just bitter, took that peak.

And for those saying you don't need a piece of paper to commit, true. But let's say it would make your partner happy, then by the same token, why would a piece of paper hurt? I think that's just a get out excuse, truth is you don't want to be tied down which is what the piece of paper does, and being that tied down is part of the commitment, it's not really much of a commitment if it's that easy to get out of.

Another unpopular opinion I have is I don't believe in pre-nups. If you suspect that you and your wife who both vowed to be together "till death do us part" may someday get divorced, then that vow and promise is pretty empty to begin with. Either be sure or don't go through it at all. If you're not sure, if you have a hint of doubt, don't do it.

As someone who's had a 4 year relationship, a two 2 Year relationships, I can say that none of it matters until after you have graduated college. If you date for 4 years in college, great, but once you get to the real world, it becomes vastly more complicated and puts a lot more strain on the relationship. Same thing for once you move out of your house and into your own place. You only really know you want to be with someone when life is actually hard. Going to class and parties is not hard. Living in an overpriced apartment, while working full time, commuting, and dating someone is fukking hard. If you can barely handle that when you're in college, then you definitely won't be able to handle it when you graduate. Then it will get even harder when you want to get married and even have kids. Your relationship will get harder over 21 years with a kid, so if it barely works at the start it sure as chit won't work down the road. I just lol at my friends who have these issues, and then think that moving in together is going to solve their problems, when in reality it just gets much much worse.

I personally feel that I'd rather spend time with the right person, then the wrong one. I'll date a girl for a month, and if I'm really not into her I'll end it. No need to spend all the time, effort, and money into something that I know will not work. I just tell them straight up with honesty, and most of the time girls appreciate that and thank me for telling them so they can move on elsewhere. It's also selfish to waste someone else's time. If you aren't happy and don't see it going anywhere, then leave. I think after a year you should really know if you want to marry this person or not, and with my relationships that's how I felt. If after a full year you aren't fully convinced, then it might not be the right one. So the average "dating" before marriage is 4.9 years which I think is a little much. I'd see it as 3 years of dating, and then 1 year of being engaged, so married after 4 years of "dating". If any relationship makes it past 5 years of dating, I'd think one side of that relationship is either scared of the commitment, don't want to get married, or they have plans to leave the relationship. One of my friends has been dating the same guy for 9 fukking years. He still hasn't proposed nor has he given any mention of it. I pretty much told her that she's wasting her time but she seems intent on staying. When you meet them together it's so painfully obvious that he doesn't fully want to be in the relationship, but he'd have a hard time finding someone else, so he stays, but doesn't want to stay bad enough to get married.

One of my exes had an uncle who was dating this woman for almost 30 years. They started dating when they were 16. They went everywhere together, lived together, etc., but they never had kids. Then legit one day he just wakes up and tells her that he doesn't love her anymore and then just leaves. Let her keep the house and just started dating someone else like a month later.

"Dating" a girl for a long time is pure cuckery. The more time you spend with a girl in a childless "relationship" the more she subconsciously thinks there's something wrong with you.

it really is mind blowing how many people will date/stay in a relationship with someone just for the sake of it. Very weak thing to do. I've been there but I've grown past that now.
Girls who do this are the worst, will date a guy for an extended period and may not even like him whilst she shops for other guys , complete waste of time for both parties really. Well maybe not they get to enjoy each others company and what not but whats the point of taking a girl out etc if you don't see long term with them? Just stick to FWB or ur pre much a cuck

scarcity mindset just to get a ring on your finger. more to life than just getting married (for a man anyway). but yeah, in an idea world that would happen. if she was happy to start a family after getting married. if she is planning on just working a career, no thanks jeff.

as for THAT guy, if he is focused on his career/business why would he care about getting married? she should be supporting him and their future life. there is nothing wrong with qualifying a girl to see if she is worth marrying, if she supports you that is part of the way there. this can take longer than a year. she needs to earn it. remember, the man is the prize. he offers her a life of meaning. otherwise she'll just have a unfulfilling career and ride the cock carasoul on tinder for the rest of her life

with today's world of sloots being career orientated, they don't really need to get married either, they can just sloot it up and chase make dollars

disagree with this.

people and women especially (no offence) can be incredibly deceptive and keep a false image up for a lot longer than a year if it means getting a ring on their finger

my personal limit would be 3 years. thats much harder to fraud

if she's still sane and likeable after 3 years, and the sex is the same, then sure.

and i truly believe the sex should be the same, before anyone says it gets less after the honeymoon period. If you're living together (another precursor to marriage) you should still be fukking every day. if not one of you is doing something wrong

My brother and his current wife were dating for 6 before getting married since they needed to get finances sorted. They rarely have relationship issues and neither had commitment issues either. Marriage isnt the end all so dont see whats wrong with not getting formally married unless its a way to avoid commitment or if there are always issues (in which case you might as well just split)
