I don't believe in any religion and I certainly do not believe in something as preposterous as a Devil.

People using satan for religious purposes are just people bored with life and who have too much money. So they use it as a sexual perversion and a way to control others.

There are satanists/Left Hand Occultists from all walks of life, not just the rich.

There is a local shop that explictly is Left Hand Occultists (They literally have the sigil of lucicer on their signs), and they sell Left hand Occultist items (I saw a big Baphomet for sale in the front display when I walked past one day). I don't think the owners are rich.

Even if you can't fathom how anyone can sincerely believe something that you find preposterous, they still may do.

Satan is just a fairy tale though. Far as I can tell most "satanists" don't even believe in an actual Devil and instead are merely following a philosophy they call Satanism. Which just seems to be a way to be a massive edgelord about a uncontroversial belief system that would otherwise be completely obscure and unknown.

tl;dr 95%+ Satanists are attention-seeking dipchits, the minority are sociopaths looking for a cool way to sociopath.

They practice ceremonial magic, and spiritually the objective is self-deification. Trolling Christianity is part of the antinomian philosophy of Left Hand Occultism. To Satanists who follow or derive their beliefs from Anton Lavey Satan is seen an archetype/symbol of self-deification ("Be thy own master").

Laveyan Satanists don't, but Laveyan Satanism =/= the belief of every Satanist.

Laveyan Satanist treats Satan as a symbol/archetype of self-deification/self-empowerment. They also practice ceremonial magic (hence the sigils), and antinomianism.

I think you want to believe this spiritual stuff is real because you need to, same as anyone else who relies on "something greater than themselves" to get them through life.

These magickal practices derive from Gnosis, which means, "Knowledge of Spiritual Mysteries". Gnosticism means, "Having knowledge". Gnostics reject Church Authority.

You're wrong. I have had multiple experiences, that I don't believe are adequately explained by the physicalist model.

I even went through an atheist period, where I researched into cognitive psychology and even stage magician explanations for spiritual experiences. Some were adequate explanations, however there were a number of experiences that simply were not adequately explained. (I became an Atheist due to adopting Rationalist epistemology, and I still believe that from a rationalist perspective Atheism is the best conclusion.)

(I would strongly advise you not to practice ceremonial magic out of curiosity, but I have in the past when I was practicing martial arts... Unbeknownest to me.... I'll also say, sometimes the effects can be long lasting, so it's best not to dabble in that stuff.)

I don't know why you ignore their own explanations of why they do what they do. (Like the book I mentioned.)

Sure I get that, just whenever I've seen a Satanist post in a chat board about it they say stuff "LOL noob I don't even believe in the Devil...or your Christian God LOL". So I get the impression that most Satanists are just edgelords who call their belief system Satanism to shock people, basically the quasi-religious equivalent of Marilyn Manson. I've never looked into it extensively though so I could be wrong.

When I say that they don't believe in God, I mean they don't believe in Abrahamic religion, I should have clarified that.

I would say I know more about these topics than 99% of mankind but I still feel naked talking about them. I want more. If you have any information or links besides what you have already provided I will look into it.

I wouldn't practice magick because I can't meet the requirements but also, I don't want anything. I can't be tempted by anything and I certainly wouldn't want to pay what it costs.

Now that I think about it, if there was some type of magickal ceremony that could grant me all knowledge of all things in all instances, then yeah, I'd prob do it.

I guess it's like you said, these people seek self-deification which I would imagine would grant them Knowledge of the Infinite
