If DC didn't hold on to Stipe(idk if it was dc holding on to stipe so he doesn't move backgrounds or if stipe just wanted to be on his face, but he only had his upper body movement there) when stipe was pounding on him the last seconds I think it was round 2, and Stipe could've went back and put in full power and motion to his strikes, could've he ended the round before the bell?

I think DC either has some undisclosed nagging injuries or he's just not the athlete he once was and his age is catching up to him... it looked to me like he didn't have the confidence in his gas tank to wrestle after the first round but maybe he was fine and really didn't see any openings for a TD after rd 1, who knows?
He's also had back problems before. As someone who's had ruptured discs before I couldn't imagine shooting a double or single leg with a bad back, especially on a 240 lb elite athlete.
Stipe is an animal though, he took some big strikes and looked very strong in the clinch. I think if he fought Francis again it would go the same way if not worse, but its MMA and Stipe is no spring chicken so age could literally catch up to him at any time, or Francis could catch him. At HW especially, these guys can all KO each other with one shot so if your timing or speed is off even just a bit its a huge disadvantage.
That's what a lot of people don't understand... time catches up to everyone. A fighter can gradually decline over a long period of time or they can have one bad performance or take a big KO or take a bad beating and never be the same again... it happens to everyone eventually.

He was asking for a lesson. Would have preferred Marlon to maul him for 15mins but.
However it is alarming that it is supposedly the same injury he suffered against Soukmathath a couple years ago, if he has got brittle feet then that will really disarm him in the future.

Chits a little fuked now with covid and travel restrictions, but most fight cards have some great fights on both prelims and main cards. The headliners aren't always great but if you love fighting there's always some bangers.

Izzy/Costa and Khabib/Justin
Jones is just trolling about fighting heavyweight division.
He is trying to avoid Reyes rematch which will force UFC to have intern title fight Reyes vs Silva.
They cant book Conor if they cant get fans into stadium to cover huge fees.
I think Stipe is fantastic fighter but how can they promote him.
Francis is known as scary ford escort power.
Also now being August there is no way in hell Stipe will fight again this year.

Cormier pokes Stipe, no big deal. Stipe pokes Cormier, end of the world.

Fedor isn’t the goat tbh
He should’ve went to ufc to fight
The ufc is the measuring stick for greatness in the mma world snd he never made it there iirc
And I say this as a fan who watched pride when it was at its best and have seen all of his fights outside of pride.

It's tough watching how fast, vicious and tough Fedor was and not believing he would have beat both of those gents yesterday.

I was a huge Fedor fan but come on its can't be compared. He would have probably beat Randy if he came to the UFC at the time but Stipe, Ngannou, Reem, JDS all ****ing crush any Fedor

You're talking about fights from after Fedor's prime. which, I think is the best argument for stipe over him, fedor peaked earlier. But when you're fighting 4-5x/year and doing grand prixs and whatnot... Vs once a year. Of course you peak earlier. Lots of mileage.
My ALT is elevated. 75.

I watched pride when it started
Those shows were Hot during my tape trading days when it was the best way to get mma and pro wrestling tapes from japan.
I’m familiar with fedor and I don’t think he’s the greatest of all time. Very nice guy though.
Fedor fought a few guys who were huge stars New Japan Pro Wrestling such as Yuji Nagata also well known in the states due to wcw.
I was I think one of the first pride fans in the states as it gained popularity through the tape trading scene.
I though Wand, Big Nog, CroCop and Barnett were Great back then. Pride gave me an appreciation for the ground aspect and because it was closely related to pro wrestling, it was easy to get into.
But I liked ufc more I think after shamrock vs Tito 1 which got a lot of attention as ken was coming off a 4 year lay-off Which he spent in WwF.
