For all we know black holes could be gateways into other universes. On the other side could be white holes that spew our matter forming building blocks for other universes.

No chit we have a common ancestor. That IS evolution you dumb fuk. A species fractures from a random mutation and if it's beneficial enough the species diverges. The more successful group from the split goes on to be more fruitful. And that creates a new branch in the tree. Which then led to more branches (read other sapiens) being created and lost.

The universe can be both infinite and expanding. The expansion isn't "into or out of" anything. It is an expansion of how distances are measured if that makes sense. Think of it as if the scale is changing.

because what we perceive and what is the total reality of the universe are two different things. Do you think an Ant perceives the universe the same as us? thats only a very minuscule comparison to how much we understand the universe as humans.

I see this a lot and while you are absolutely right, don't sell humanity short. You really can understand gravitation quite well. Just not perfectly. Humans have discovered some incredibly accurate models of physics that do offer very real useful insights into the nature of existence.

Agreed. What is most funny about that is, it is a transvestite delivering it. Almost ironic, no? But very fitting regarding 2020.

Physics brahs explain

you can see the edge but those little demons cant. the edge is infinity. you can make it smaller or larger but the edge is always infinity.

i think thats what it means anyway. not a physics brah.

It's important when explaining evolution to emphasize a gradual change of allele frequencies IN POPULATIONS. It isn't as if 2 fishes randomly had a baby that then walked out on land like Mr Garrison there seems to believe. It's more like random mutations that weren't particularly deleterious or were even beneficial accumulated in a population enough that it slowly diverged into being able to do other things. Over time, with selection occurring on the population, new traits developed collectively in the species as a whole, allowing it to do other things. It's a gradual change in entire populations, not a discontinuous change in a single generation of individuals. Now, you could have extreme cases of it being due to a single individual, particularly for microbes. For example, suppose by some fluke, a particular individual bacterium has a resistance to some antibiotic due to a mutation. Well, if you wipe out the population with the antibiotic but allow it to replicate, you should soon see a new population that is resistant to the antibiotic. The population thus evolved resistance.

only according to humans through human created forms of measurement and human created equations. Its like asking Donald Trump who should be the next president. We are creating and verifying our understanding based on our own verification and understanding. Although it helps us understand some things, it doesnt definitively explain anything.

It does. We have experiments. We can predict many of the outcomes of experiment to extreme accuracy using these models. We have seen things nobody would have expected or thought of in the past. For example, things like time dilation, the quantum zeno effect, the mass energy equivalence, the violation of Bell's inequalities, the existence of antimatter, the Higgs field and superconductivity, etc

I think that's the same dude on JRE who was saying something like based on that finding a previous iterations civilization could have encoded a message into ours. But that's all based in the single verse theory.

It's not only because he is black. He is a good communicator of science to lay people. Guys like David Gross and Edward Witten are way smarter, but they're kind of intimidating and can scare people away. Tyson is a young, cool black guy who is good at explaining things to people in a simple way. That's why he has become the successor to Sagan.
