Oh and you're allowed to take a mini job up to 400 € per month and still get your full unemployment money on top. There's not much difference from your living standards if you're unemployed or working 40+ hours a week in a low income job like eldercare in germany srs.

If you work a full time job you also should do decent money compared to unemployed folks. If that's true, why even bother working?

But does a person who is single, or a couple with no kids get the same amount as a couple with kids? Or dependent family members? Because then 1,400 bucks will have a different effect depending on a person's situation.

To be universal it has to be given to everyone
The whole point of it is you get to keep the income even if you get a job, so it doesn’t distort incentives
And removed the need for a massive governments hind to undertake means testing
As described this is just welfare
Worst part is people will point to this **** and say UBI doesn’t work
If nothing else you get to sack thousands upon thousands of bureaucrats whose job it is to determine eligibility for welfare
And you get rid of peoples disincentive to work (ie at present many welfare recipients stay on government benefits because they’re scared of losing the benefits if they get a job, especially a temporary one)
Welfare recipients often face an effective marginal tax rate greater than 100% when moving into the workforce

UBI is the most retarded economic strategy that’s just veiled socialism

Lowering the prices of goods (housing, education, healthcare) would be called deflation and scares bankers way more than inflation.
UBI is just boosting the masses up like a step stool for a short kid.
