A lot of people don't understand the value proposition of Marriage.
Anything less than total mutual exclusive "ownership" of another willing individual is not worth it to men.
We just plain don't want it that way. As much as we joke about pussy and that that's all we care about, actually the pussy and the dick are both worthless. Only love and the emotional high has value.
The madness of omg I own this wonderful creature (and they own me) and its forever. That insanity is what it takes to get fully high off the life and love of it.
So vapid women that want to be your "partner" are just selling themselves and the whole idea of love short. Nobody wants a stank ass pussy around just for the fuk of it.
Excuse my harshness.

Men wouldn’t have a problem with it if it was a flat fee that went to the lawyer.
It’s the idea of giving your ex an allowance while she has no obligation to you whatsoever. It’s the lowest form of sugar daddy ever. Basically they can spend your money however they please, **** whoever they want, and it’s all because at one point you were in love with each other (maybe).
It’s horse****. It’s a business and has everything to do with status and very little to do with love.

For instance, she would not bathe unless she planned on sex. I had already started pulling back on sex to like once a month because I found her so disgusting. She would bathe only then. The rest of the time she smelled like pure azz.
Her mother died right before we were married and it really caused some issues mentally. That’s when the hoarding started.
I stayed with her because we had a daughter who I loved dearly. My parents were still married. I was brought up that you stick together through it all. So that what I did, but I had depression and was on meds because of it.
Even after she cucked me, I fought to stay with her because of the kids. We had three by that time. I literally told myself that I would sacrifice my life for my kids.
Those first few months were hopeless after the divorce, but I felt that I had to keep it together for the kids.
I had ballooned up to 240 lbs trying to comfort myself with food, but after the divorce I started working out. I lost 70lbs. My life changed for the better after that. I’ve been great mentally since then.
I did remarry which I thought I would never do, but it is drastically different this time. We are best friends and do not have an ounce of hate towards her.

If she keeps putting 100% into housewifing and we divorce in 20 years I have no problem giving her half the family assets as they were earned via 2 person effort.
Of course I don't have expensive tastes and don't feel that money is overly important to my happiness, I'm only professionally successful because I need goals and complex problems to solve to feel satisfied. Many likely don't feel that way.

Lol, if my wife threatened me with divorce I'd ask her to get the pen hot. I mean, I love my wife and plan on being married to her forever, but if she threatens me with divorce, well, bye.

A good amount of cope (can't get a wifey) and confirmation bias (focus on the worst case divorces) would be my call.
Laws vary by state but generally are not as slanted toward women as miscers claim. Used to be more in women's favor than it is now. In some states there is no alimony at all. In most others alimony is for a limited time period based off the length of the marriage. Last I read only 7 states even have the option still for permanent alimony.

Indeed, today’s mothers are the primary breadwinners in four out of 10 U.S. families, according to Pew Research. And though only 3% of the roughly 400,000 alimony recipients in 2010 were male, per Census data, the trend of spousal support awards from women to men is “definitely on the rise” as women’s earnings continue to increase, New York divorce lawyer James Sexton told Moneyish.
Women have been responsible for paying spousal support since 1979, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in a landmark decision that alimony should be gender-neutral. Many states over the years have shifted away from permanent spousal support -- lifelong payments until death or the spouse’s remarriage -- to alleviate the payer’s burden and catch up with the modern marriage.

why cant women understand we just plain dont like them THAT much. Its mostly primal urges that are temporary. But they swear its us that are the problem and not them. Despite the fact that they have betrayed their gender and the human race by not playing gender roles and become ugly man-wannabes.
If you act like a dude and want to be the same as a dude, then that would make us gay for liking another person who acts like a man.
Its never cool for a woman to act like a dude. Your value goes to near zero. Femininity is a valuable asset. If you dont have that you are nothing. A man essentially, less than a man.
If i was into dudes i would get a quality masculine gay man. But since im into feminity and subservience, if you want to be equal then you are no longer valuable. Youre just taking up space in an already overpopulated place.
BRB we hardly have jobs but now women want to double the ammount of jobs we need because they all want their own job, apartment, and to be left alone to live in a lonely cell (metaphorically speaking) like a commie.

There are a lot of men that like their wives a lot. The couples spend all the time together doing everything together. It's going through life with a partner.
When you get sick, they take care of you. When something good happens, they rejoice with you. It's life, connection, history, meaning, friendship and loveship and pretty much everything.

(talking alimony without kids here; see better arguments for it with kids, but I don't want kids myself, so idgaf)
To some degree, it seems like alimony only "equalizes" things one way.
If you're the breadwinner and your spouse stays at home maintaining the home/whatever, you'll probably have to pay them money so they can maintain *their* lifestyle, but the court's not going to order them to
help maintain *your* lifestyle by having them clean your house or help out however (that would be a terrible arrangement ofc).
I get that the stay-at-home spouse has sacrificed professional development to help with the marriage and this may severely impact them in the workplace, but if only side is sacrificing things in the end,
it feels like the courts have implied the deal was uneven or the breadwinner had the better deal, which seems contrary to the original idea.
