Let me guess, you still live with mommy and daddy?

So when DO you plan on moving out? 40?

Ah, glad you asked. Very soon actually, hopefully within 6 months.

In the process of training an employee so I don't have to be here all day, every day. If I have some free time to spend at my new place, and not just sleep there, that's value to me worth spending

Well technically I moved out when I was younger. Moved back in and rotted for a few years, and getting ready to move out again

What the heck is wrong with you guys? I’m not trying to hate but how can you be such a leech? So co dependent?

And if you’re so stingy who says you have to get an apartment in Hawaii? Just rent a room but become independent. I swear to God half the misc is trolling itt. It’s one thing to not force a child out at 18 it’s another to shamelessly brag about staying at home until 30.

Are you white?

the whole moving out concept is such a dumb social stigma. most people who move out don't have their own place. having a roommate, or living in someone's basement, is no different than living with family, imo it's worse. at least with family ur all supporting one another whether by bills food or house chores. instead of supporting a stranger.
There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.

srs? I lived with my folks till 20 and then with my grandma till 22 while I was in college. Once I had a full time job I moved cities and got my own place. Really helped give me a good financial foundation, I would love to give my kids that same gift.

No matter how much you try and justify it to yourself, if you live at home with your parents beyond 18/19 years old, you will miss out on some pretty authentic life experiences.

Yes. Rent a expensive.

But the connections you make with people, and the self esteem that comes from making it on your own is important.

But I’m not here to change anyone’s mind. Just stating a fact.

If the kid isn't doing something with their lives...its YOUR fault as a parent for raising them that way. Good job discarding your mistake and pawning it off on the world instead of continuing to support them as best you can...but then again if you are able to come to that logical conclusion then you would have raised them better. Lol at people that call their kid lazy or not driven...you made the thing and raised it that way. Take some ****ing ownership

While the coming of age ceremony of the Mandan tribe is a particularly gruesome example, peoples and cultures from prehistoric times onward created rites of passage to initiate boys into manhood. Today, such rites of passage are almost extinct. Boys lack clear markers on their journey to becoming a man. If you ask them when the transition occurs, you will get a variety of answers: “”When you get a car,” “When you graduate from college,” “When you get a real job,” “When you lose your virginity,” “When you get married, “When you have a kid,” and so on. The problem with many of these traditional rites of passage is that they have been put off further and further in a young man’s life. 50 years ago the average age an American man started a family was 22. Today, men (for ill or good) are getting married and having kids later in life. With these traditional rites of passage increasingly being delayed, many men are left feeling stuck between boyhood and manhood. College? Fewer men are graduating. And many that do “boomerang” back home again, spending another few years figuring out what the next step in their life should be. As traditional rites of passage have become fuzzier, young men are plagued with a sense of being adrift.

Of course the process of becoming a man, ceremony or not, does not happen in a single moment. But rites of passage are important in delineating when a boy should start thinking of himself as a man, when he should start carrying himself as a man, when the community should start respecting him as a man, and when he should start shouldering the responsibilities of a man. Lacking these important markers, many young men today belabor their childhood, never sure of when they’ve really “manned up.”

What female worth marrying posts personal garbage about her family to strangers on Reddit? That worthless rag has the audacity to call him toxic?

She did a favor by kicking him out and letting him finally live free of the constant nagging and window licking at his house. If I was that dude, i'd fake my own death to avoid child or spousal support and go live life on my own terms.

Supporting family first counts more than any 'wisdom' this dude thinks comes from sending his son out at 18. Literally guaranteeing failure, as vagrancy is a crime, and he has no money or job. jail and a record immediately. life and future ruined.

Not having a father on your side also represents the most difficult hurdle one can encounter in life, socially.

Can you picture any of these miscers, who live at home with mommy and daddy at 30, starting a family and acting like the head of the household?

No wonder so many of them have issues with women, because what woman will put up with a so called "man" still living at home? How can she picture him as a provider?

So let's unpack this...

You call disparaging names toward other races while lumping into categories.

You dont post in the LE thread well...we both know why.

If you are a cop. What podunk ass agency gives comp time for holidays? Most agencies give a paid holiday check at the end of the year or give an option for pay.

Are you some "technically a police officer" like armed TSA, college, or FPS or similar? The way you talk. Youd get your face smashed in on the first stop youd make at any real agency that actually does police work.

If you don’t believe I'm CPD, I could really care less.

My days off were canceled this labor weekend, and we're on 12 hr days. I'm looking at 56hrs of comp time from all of this.

And laughing at boarded up buildings in the neighborhood i work in isn't racist. They brought it upon themselves with this ****.

And whats your definition of "real police work?" Running and gunning?

Now that's a smart man right there. The kid who gets raised by you will comfortably be able to afford to buy a house owing to not having wasted fuk loads of money on rent.

When you rentcel while young, you are so much worse off than those with good parents who support their kids that it's not funny. Let's say over the course of 5 years you waste $100k on rent. Compared to living at home you're worse off by $225k = $100k (rent) + $100k (money you otherwise would have kept) + $25k (passive income from having kept money over 5 years). You are $225k worse off from renting but you're "independent" JFL @ the cope.

Almost everyone who rents.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
