I knew a serial killer who had a high IQ and his dad was in the CIA who had that, but that's about it.

I meet lots of killers, met several last week, who seem like completely normal people.

However, I have met a lot of "ghetto" people who murdered other and they have the dead, yet intense, quality you mentioned, like a rap stereotype. I talked to three such guys in the last two days. All were in for homicide. The one laughed and the other two had that nasal monotone of rappers with a dead stare and they seemed unfazed that they will be doing life.

Meanwhile, I have a young teenage girl accused of murder. She has a better vocab than most adults, is charming, and if I could adopt her I think I would. Or if I had a time machine I'd go back and rescue her. She got hooked up with an adult criminal dude, sexually, and they killed a guy she knew. Could be she didn't really do anything though as I don't know the evidence.

Anyway, the answer is that most appear to be normal and you wouldn't guess it. That's or kinda retarded.

Skimming through that document it's crazy the picture that was painted of the couple. She was by all accounts a difficult woman to be married to, OCD and controlling. It's surprising to hear how intelligent he was considering how poorly thought out the murders were, it almost seemed like he just wanted to erase his family and start out from scratch as a bachelor, perhaps in the hope of starting a new life with his mistress, who wanted to start her own life and have her own family, and wasn't overly excited about the idea of him already being a dad.
