I know I said I wasn’t going to watch it, but I did a quick speed viewing of the thing, just kind of fast forwarded it. I like to know what I talk about. The whole premise of the movie what from what I gathered is a girl who’s in strict tribe like culture. She wants to be different then that, and she sees women shaking their asses and stuff. She thinks it’s how you become popular. She starts becoming a closet dancer and dresses promiscuously. She makes friends, teaches them how to dance and stuff. She becomes popular and craves social media. Eventually takes it too far, uploads a nude picture of herself on the internet. Family finds out, she becomes shunned from her own family and her friends are like you ruined us, you’re a bad look. There’s some dance competition they were in and she pushed someone into a river who almost died I guess. Then she shows up, her friends have no choice but to dance with her because one girl was missing, maybe the one she pushed idk. In the middle of the dance she realizes that it’s all wrong and not who she is, and she runs home crying. Figures out that trying to be popular is dumb and she made a huge mistake giving into the hyper sexuality of our culture. Realizes that just being a kid and being yourself is more important, end movie.

I get the whole premise of the movie and I agree with the message that young women are pressured into promoting themselves. Which is true because you see it on Instagram, TikTok, and then the eventual progression into OnlyFans. BUT again, although the message can be heard, it’s just like this soft core porno of teenage girls and it’s just not the way to do it. You could have achieved the same goal without all the closeups and questionable scenes. I didn’t see the boob one nor do I want to see it, but I saw the condom blowup scene. Like why the fuk would you ever want to put that crap in a movie. Kind of disgusted that someone filmed this, people watched it, and were like yeah this is a good movie. Shame on these girls parents for letting them be in this movie and it should be taken down because it’s going to be used in a way that would not promote the directors message.
