Remember when you considered yourself fiscally conservative, but socially liberal?

I remember a pre-2012 poll here on the misc that showed the average miscer considering themselves to be economically conservative, but socially liberal. I was also one of those people.

I think what changed for me was when being socially liberal shifted from being ok that your neighbor was gay, trans, smoked weed etc as long as they didn't impede on your rights or the rights of others. It's all good baby, do your thing.

To clearly pushing radical degeneracy onto everyone else. Race hustling/ creating divisive, false racial narratives. Doxxing and cancelling people that don't believe the same thing you do.

Are we to blame for being too relaxed about these things in the first place? Did our nonchalance allow things to get out of hand?

The bold is pretty much exactly how it went down for me, and it has snowballed so fast in the last couple of years it is absolutely mind boggling. The pendulum has to be near it's tipping point, and it's going to swing back hard, unfortunately probably too far to be honest.

Only time will tell, but I strongly believe the pushback is coming. I'm seeing more and more people that have never taken an interest in politics at all coming out as strongly conservative and taking a moral stand against the absurd level of degeneracy we face at the moment.

Can still be socially progressive whilst rejecting the extremism of the left. That's me -- I reject the extremism of the left as what it is - extremism.

I vehemently despise the Trump cult of personality currently infecting the right, however.

I would always think socially more libertarian, liberal agendas are always going to push and push, often well beyond the point of decency. The LGBTQ stuff comes to mind, where it's just not good enough to keep people from being discriminated against and giving everyone the same rights, at some point it's children being mutilated, given life-altering hormones and anyone who wants to simply discuss it being labelled a Nazi. No thanks.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Whoever said it was gonna be a slippery slope was right. When you say you’re the “party of science” and yet you pretend being a tranny is a normal, healthy thing you’ve lost all credibility. And then to demean people that don’t go along with it. Remember when some rapper (TI?) didn’t want to kiss a tranny on live tv and he was called a bigot?

They’ve created words to demean anybody that doesn’t go along with their narrative. You think trans people have a mental illness (they do), you’re transphobic. You don’t think people should cross the border illegally? Xenophobe. You don’t enjoy the sight of two dudes making out? Homophobe. You’re a racist if you don’t go along with the false BLM narrative that black people are hunted down by police.

This is why Trump was elected. This is why he has a massive following. You can’t belittle people who don’t agree with your politics (and outright falsehoods) and drag them through the mud and not expect them to push back.
Horny.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overton_window

“The Overton Window is an approach to identifying the ideas that define the spectrum of acceptability of governmental policies. Politicians can only act within the acceptable range. Shifting the Overton Window involves proponents of policies outside the window persuading the public to expand the window. Proponents of current policies, or similar ones within the window, seek to convince people that policies outside it should be deemed unacceptable. According to Lehman, who coined the term, "The most common misconception is that lawmakers themselves are in the business of shifting the Overton window. That is absolutely false. Lawmakers are actually in the business of detecting where the window is, and then moving to be in accordance with it."

everybody is fiscally conservative. Crap.... that's a lie. The republicans aren't fiscally conservative. Trump definitely isn't.

Most people want to balance budgets. The democrats always come closest. The difference is always what people think is worth spending on and how to raise funds.

Being socially conservative is more significant.

Liberals are now fighting for open p3do’s, it’s almost here now. “cuties” is the beginning and test to see how we’ve accepted it - and so far it’s a success for p3dos everywhere that it hasn’t been rejected by the media.

Socially Liberal = pro-Individualism in regards to public policy, IMO.They idea of shaping culture to benefit the collective is abhorrent to individualists, and they only want to shape culture in way that allows individual liberty.

Marxists, Feminists, and Critical theorists have a distinct advantage, because they are explicitly thinking about the concerns of collectives. They want to shape culture for the benefits of collectives

Fiscally conservative = (It seems) to mean pro-neoliberal Capitalism. Lasseiz-faire, pro-globalization.

Which means that corporations, who have a heavily vested interest in shaping culture in order to promote consumerism and careerism, are able to outsource, encourage mass immigration, and socially engineer society through advertising/media with free reign.

In a nutshell: IMO Individualists leave society wide open to being influenced by any peoples that are not individualists. Because non-individualists tend to be far more concerned with influencing culture and individualists, who tend to have a lasseiz-faire attidue.

These things are not socially liberal. These things are authoritarian, the exact opposite of socially liberal. I still am fiscally conservative and socially liberal. The closest party we have is the libertarian party, although I will admit there are a lot of problems with that party as well.

Fiscal conservatives are an extremely rare and dying breed. Certainly no Trump supporter is a fiscal conservative; that is an oxymoron.

The plebeian culture wars are all that remains in terms of ideological separation. The vast majority of you have lost (or never had) the ability to objectively view issues outside of the us vs them, red team/blue team bubble.

Disliking trannies or not participating in a homosexual parade doesn't make you "socially conservative". That's just the divisive oversimplification of the culture wars.

I used to like the definition of Classical Liberal.
Classical liberals argued for what they called a minimal state, limited to the following functions:

- A government to protect individual rights and to provide services that cannot be provided in a free market.
- A common national defense to provide protection against foreign invaders.
- Laws to provide protection for citizens from wrongs committed against them by other citizens, which included protection of private property, enforcement of contracts and common law.
- Building and maintaining public institutions.
- Public works that included a stable currency, standard weights and measures and building and upkeep of roads, canals, harbors, railways, communications and postal services.

Classical liberals asserted that rights are of a negative nature and therefore stipulate that other individuals and governments are to refrain from interfering with the free market, opposing social liberals who assert that individuals have positive rights, such as the right to vote, the right to an education, the right to health care, and the right to a living wage.
What people call themselves and others has got so muddy and angry I am now in the 'Fuk off and stop talking about it' party.

I agree strongly.

Cultural/social conservatism is about advocating for, and practicing conserving the cultural heritage of a nation.

Brahs who are living a hedonist, consumerist, careerist lifestyle are not practicing cultural conservatism, let alone advocating for it. They are socially liberal.

"balanced budgets"

sound great right up until "your" programs get cut in the process. It is why budget cuts are never popular even though they are "in theory.

what do you guys think of this meme? I think a few of them are kinda lol and like yeah, but many of these you could accuse leftists on the opposite side. Some of them kind of fall flat due to democrat govenors encouraging and not putting a stop to rioting, or releasing criminals. Now more than ever for America the right to bear arms is something that should remain true. Then again, this was from some reddit cuck group.
