The problem has always been the bar to prove a cop is guilty or criminally negligent seems to be beyond high. That argument has always been at the forefront for these type of cases

I don't disagree with you, but this is the unequivocal truth

the police and 1 witness said they announced their presence.
This could have easily been corroborated if they were wearing bodycams, which LMPD claimed they weren't, yet at the same time James was photographed wearing one.
The police report also was malformed and mostly blank.

So they literally have no evidence that they actualy announced they were police, aside from that 1 witnesses testimony.

11witnesses said they did not hear any announcement. So are all 11 of them lying?

Let's assume they did announce they were police..they're still wearing plainclothes and have just broken down your door. You have a gun. It's 12AM. Who is going to go 'gee well, they said their cops, guess i'll trust them?'

In an apartment you can hear your neighbors pretty dam easy. This again goes back to the bodycam "malfunctioning". That looks really off

Cops had a legal warrant, so they can't really be charged, but what a sh!tshow by the cops here. That one cop is lucky he wasn't hit somewhere critical, and multiple neighbors almost got hit.

Yes. This happens routinely. Cities routinely pay out big settlements. It's a complicated formula. Gist of it is if their insurance providers see potential loss = 50 mil damages. Settlement = 10 mil. Why risk it in this political climate? The city fights it and more than that is done in damage to the city by far anyways.

They weren't issued today cameras. I dont understand the malfunction comments.

On the hearing knocking etc. Reality took care of that. You cannot witness something you weren't apprised of. It actually doesnt make you a witness at all.

The photo was taken in the aftermath while evidence photos were being taken. Is it normal for a cop to grab a bodycam and stick it on after this type of event? I don't know...seems odd.
