It's either a humble brag thread or OP is autistic as fukc. Maybe a little of both.

Just go through your normal motions and let them run their course.

You all have clearly been able to compromise in the past, are you trying to test out a knock down drag out?
We haven't really had to compromise all that much. There's been a couple conversations related to women's role in a church/marriage that we didn't line up absolutely perfectly on. But pulling out a Bible ended those debates fairly quickly. I need something that can't be solved by looking up the answer so easily. Anything we can look up in the Bible I feel like either of us would realign our position to match whatever the Bible says on the matter since we are both reasonably serious Christians.

Wasn't my intention to brag so maybe its just autism. I just want to find out if everything is gonna crash and burn as soon as we have a real fight. If it is, I'd like to find out before marrying her.

Maybe. But is it really that unreasonable to want to see if the relationship will survive a real fight before marrying her? I see us fighting as inevitable. But it's probably gonna be rare. But if it ends our relationship when it happens it doesn't really matter how rare it is does it?

I guess its kinda a flex. Didn't intend for it to be. Def not trolling. See above.

She lives with her parents at the moment. We have pretty separate finances and she doesn't mind paying for things. I usually buy things anyway, but if I asked her to pay for something she would just do it.

I did loan her some money for school (like $500. its a community college) that she's been kinda slow paying me back with. But I don't see that turning into a fight either. If I asked her to she'd just make payments to me every time she gets paid. Don't see how I can turn that into a fight without me just being a jerk.

There's some pics of her on the misc. Did a photoshop thread which she thought was funny. I feel kinda weird attaching a picture when I'm talking about her though. I'm not sure she fully understands what the misc is/how we talk about girls. I guess it might make her mad if I put pics up on some thread talking about us having sex or something. But that'd probably just end with me going "Yeah but I've shown you threads before, and you said it was okay for me to put pictures of you up"

I mean it COULD work, but I feel like there has got to be a better idea out there

I'd have to throw a lot of candy lmao. She'd probably think it was funny or try to catch it in her mouth at first.

A fight where I am clearly the one who needs to apologize wont work either though. See below.

Yeah. And I'm really glad I'm not in that situation. I don't want a fight just to have a fight. I just want to see how well our relationship can handle a serious fight.
Guess I'm more looking for things that could potentially cause a fight in the future than I am just an excuse to fight.

I think a serious fight will happen eventually whether I want it or not, so I just want it to happen before I marry her so I can see the results before making a lifetime commitment.

How long you been together, if its not that long then she just being on her best behavior and chit that is "fine" with her now will make her throw hissy fits when she get more comfortable.

If you never see her get mad at other people or events/things then maybe she is just laid back. If you know her long enough you should know how to get under her skin

Hey mango, you're the dude with the cute nerdy gf right. I think I remember the thread? How bout u leave her alone man she seems legit. I think trying to piss someone off is some serious emotional manipulation. You're intentionally causing harm to a person you love her just to test her and that's petty. The reason I asked if you were mentally challenged because no sane bro would do that.

I feel like this is a bad/unnecessary idea. How long have you been together? If it has been a while and you haven't fought then that should be telling enough.

inb4 you piss her off and she leaves you.

I don't think this would work because I said that guys/me moved a lot more in bed than girls/her, and it wasn't even the focus of the conversation just more something I said offhand, and she didn't say anything but immediately became a lot more active a participant. I wasn't even trying to give her a hint and she immediately picked up on it and corrected it, and has kept up the correction since--been like 3 weeks now I think. I can't even imagine her reaction to an actual complaint, but I seriously doubt it would be anger.

it'll be four months in a couple days. We've been moving pretty fast. I don't see her get mad at people often. Maybe annoyed with family sometimes, but very rarely angry. Couple stories of people that made her angry that day, but even those are very rare. But like, she's human though. She has to get into fights with people right?

Not 100% how you jumped to nerdy, but its reasonably accurate I guess. This also isn't some solo crazy plan of mine. We've talked about this and not only is she aware of this, but we've spent some time brainstorming it together. It's not manipulation if shes in on it right?

I don't think this would make her fight with me. Probably just make her insecure and sad, which is not at all the goal.

idk how this would turn into a fight but I very well might do this next time we lift. (Both work gloves and lifting gloves in the basement)

What should the terms of the duel be?

As above, shes aware I want to do this, and has tried to come up with ideas herself. It's been about four months now. But I feel like the beginning is the longest time you'll ever avoid a fight, no?

Wow. This thread.

There is no sure way to ascertain what you are trying to learn. You are in the honeymoon phase of your relationship. Enjoy it.

IME in a long relationship there are probably going to be little things on either side that wear down your patience and create higher levels of irritation. In the most successful relationships this seems to gradually transform into a kind of warm-hearted habitual bickering with no actual animosity behind it.

If you really want to battle test this relationship I would abandon the idea of picking a fight. Instead plan and take a trip together. Some of those little annoying things are bound to surface under stress and most travel includes some kind of stress- delayed flights, getting lost, no phone signal, lost luggage, forgotten items, plans changed because of weather, arguing over where/what to eat, uncomfortable hotel rooms, translation challenges, etc.

Options are limited right now, but if you are both young & healthy/not too scared of COVID then there are a few destinations outside the US that are open, or you could just travel within the US, though that would probably be less difficult.

Suggest a threesome with whichever sister/friend she envies the most.

If you're already trying to start a fight, there's really no way to lose this. It either works out and she puts in the effort to compete or it works out and you're having that fight.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

EZ Opie.

Ask if she wants kids, then say you never want kids with her.

OR

If she says she doesn't want kids, say "what's wrong with you?" And tell her how you were always expecting her to have kids.

That might work. We tried a large puzzle for the same kind of idea, but we both got kinda bored of it.

I think a trip is a good idea, but unfortunately wont be an option for thew foreseeable future. She still lives with her parents, and likely will continue to do so until we do get married, and they are not going to allow a trip together before that point. I do think the concept is a good one. Kinda going with something similar with weightlifting. She isn't too thrilled with the idea but I'm pushing it. Either she starts lifting, which is great, or we end up fighting about it. Which is good too in this context.

Maybe I should be thinking in terms of stressful things we can do together instead of just a fight in general.

So I just tried this just to humor you and she just laughed and went "uhuh okay."

Although we did have an interesting question about what would happen if I freaked out and decided I didn't want kids/got a vasectomy.

According to her that would be a big fight. So I guess I could just sterilize myself? Seems a bit much though.

OP- how long you been dating? I would be grateful that you guys don't have huge arguments. Seems like my GF and I fight every weekend over the stupidest ****. I love her but it's getting to both of us. wish we didn't argue as much. our problem is we don't know how to disagree nicely and we are both too opinionated.
