I don't think 0 deaths is what they're insinuating. They're saying that Trump knew the severity of the disease early on but told people not to panic and played it down like it wasn't a big deal. He dealt with it like a fukking idiot and ended up catching it himself.
No we wouldn't have 0 deaths from it, but we would've likely had a lot less had it been handled properly by someone in charge who was not a moron & doesn't buy into conspiracy theories - which are rarely ever proven to be true. New Zealand and Australia are testaments to the fact that if the proper restrictions/measures are put into place, it can be beaten.

Top Biden Advisor: Yeah, We Really Screwed Up Swine Flu and are Lucky More Americans Didn't Die
During an event at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., Biden campaign advisor Ron Klein, who also worked for Vice President Biden in the White House and led the response to the Ebola outbreak, explained how the Obama administration did "everything wrong" in response to the 2009 swine flu crisis.
"I wasn't involved directly in the H1N1 response but I lived through it as a White House staffer and what I would say about it is a bunch of really talented, really great people were working on it and we did every possible thing wrong. Sixty million Americans got H1N1 during that period of time. It is purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in American history. It had nothing to do with us doing anything right. It was just luck.
After the national strategic stockpile was depleted, the Obama administration failed to refill it. When Wuhan coronavirus hit, it was severely lacking in much needed personal protective equipment and other supplies.
After the swine flu epidemic in 2009, a safety-equipment industry association and a federally sponsored task force both recommended that depleted supplies of N95 respirator masks, which filter out airborne particles, be replenished by the stockpile, which is maintained by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
That didn’t happen, according to Charles Johnson, president of the International Safety Equipment Assn.
The stockpile drew down about 100 million masks during the 2009 epidemic, Johnson said.
“Our association is unaware of any major effort to restore the stockpile to cover that drawdown,” he said.

Everybody brings up the fuking Spanish Flu, but treatments back then were non-existent (antibiotics weren't invented yet even) and injured soldiers that had the flu were responsible for the "second wave" as their depleted immune systems were ideal breeding grounds for a mutation.

To all the people who blame the government for any of the deaths, do you quarantine yourself 24/7 and wear a mask all the time? If not you're a massive hypocrite, as all the government would do is make you quarantine and wear a mask 24/7. The liberal members of the government actively fought against travel and immigration restrictions to prevent importing the disease, calling them racist, so they wouldn't have done any of that.
If you think its a good idea to quarantine and wear a mask 24/7 then do so. As of now I see a ton of people with Biden bumper stickers at Safeway, WalMart, the city parks, etc... Shouldn't they all be 'staying safe' and 'stopping the spread'?
You don't need the government to tell you how to be safe. If you do, you probably shouldn't be considered a fully functioning member of society or allowed to vote/live alone.

Perhaps the sick people are just staying home?
And unless NZ starts letting people travel in and out, things won't be back to normal.

He dealt with it perfectly fine. You all freaked the fuk out over nothing and ruined hundreds of thousands of lives over something that is less deadly than the flu.

The CDC took over a month to come up with a working test, and some of the worst death toll states are ran by idiots like Cuomo even though Trump got them ventilators, hospital ships and field hospitals.
Trump hasn't done a wonderful job, but some of the things he's been able to do, like operation warp speed, would have never been done under Biden or anyone else without a spine.

No we wouldn't have 0 deaths from it, but we would've likely had a lot less had it been handled properly by someone in charge who was not a moron & doesn't buy into conspiracy theories - which are rarely ever proven to be true. Harris kept bragging she was on the senate intelligence committee.
They are the same ones briefed on COVID in January. We know this because there was that scandal with a few senators selling off their stocks in February. What did Harris do? Did she do anything in Jan/Feb for California? of course not.

Right and left wing governments all over the world used various strategies to combat the virus
No pattern has emerged. The virus did what the virus wanted
Even those that had lower death tolls are just spreading the same amount of deaths over a longer time period

I always love the people that said we could have had a lot less if we "handled it properly." It's similar to when people were talking about "common sense gun control."
People love to say things that sound pretty and yet can't define a single thing to do. Everything you now insinuate as what should have been the "correct path" against this virus is all hindsight.
Not one single person here knows what we should have done, nor what we should do moving forward. All I know is that crippling the economy and destroying small business was part of the single greatest transfer of wealth in the history of the United States, and not one single fuk ever talks about it.
