Makes the show much less interesting if he's invincible. This implies the entire show will just end with him over a pile of bodies.
The head woman he bbq'd in season 1 said at one point that they already threw everything they have at homelander and he tanked it all. Short of a tactical nuke or something there's nothing traditional military equipment can do to him.

You seem to suffer from lack of paying attention while watching the show lol

Also remember Vought had been running propaganda on supe terrorists for awhile before the hearing, and Vought employees got head popped there as well so it was all too easy for them to steer the media narrative towards it being a supe terror attack.

I think the show establishes this fact pretty well. EVERYONE (including all the supes) is scared of Homelander. Stillwell had a line about how they threw everything they had at him and nothing worked.

And then in the final episode he says to Maeve "if you release that video I'll destroy everyone and everything" and she just accepts that he could do it and appeals to his ego instead, that if he did that everyone would hate him. That, apparently, is his weakness.

Yep.

I think they've established over 2 seasons that he has something akin to Narcissitic Personality Disorder, and his Narcissitic supply being cut off is what he fears the most.

His weakness is his psychology, which IMO makes the show more interesting than having him being taken out by a physical weakness. They will have to play a mind game with Homelander, because noone can take him on physically.

Yep. And I'll say again that Anthony Starr is perfect for the role of homelander. He has this insane energy to where he always seems a moment from snapping. He had the same crazy, caged animal intensity as the star on Banshee too.

That scene at the end of the finale where he's talking and it just slowly zooms in on his eyes is genuinely unnerving.

Being scared of him doesn't equate to him being invulnerable. If he is invulnerable, then what's the point of the show. There's no possibility he could ever lose by the end of the show then right? That's boring.

The stupid writing in this show just glosses over these things. Just like when Vought was brought down over the news of compound V. Edgar just released a statement saying "mane I'm sorry but I dint know wut was going on hehe" and they were just let off the hook like nothing. Lmao.

It seems like absolutely nothing short of video evidence of the 7 slaughtering innocents can stop them at this point. And even then I have my doubts based on everyone's stupidity.

And now I'm hearing mankind can't even stop the supes anyway so what's even the point of the show. Where's the stakes? Taking huge risks for payoffs etc. If we ever make Homelander out to be the bad guy, it doesn't even matter he can just kill everyone.
Bro idk why you are trying to ground a show about eccentric super heroes to real life. You'd enjoy the show alot more if you remembered it's a show and it's fictional and the basis of it is outrageous in general. Ita probably not really supposed to be analyzed that deeply.

What's the point of superman? Thor? Any character like that could just delete anyone and everyone. It hasn't stopped 60 years of storytelling.

Vought has been operating in the country for over 7 decades, they're literally arms manufacturers it's just that their products are living and breathing. So unless the government and the agencies just kinda forgot all of that, they absolutely know how the supes came to be, it's just a VERY well kept secret, especially in front of the public.

They are a very powerful company with close government connections, and bs levels of PR. They aren't just going away over the baby scandal. And the headpopping case isn't being swept under the rug and will most likely be a major plot point in the next season.

I'm somewhat hoping that the Boys will get V next season now that Vought is close to getting the stable version of the formula.
All this would make much more sense if the heroes were extremely intelligent and meticulous but they're nonchalant and messy with their jobs and have caused a ton of collateral. They do these gruesome acts, and are often exposed yet all you see is a small protest and that's about it.

You completely ignore my points about how easy it was to get over the compoint V situation. That should have ended them.

I loved that part at the end.

That to me indicated that he hasn't simply let chit go, and there is still the Sadistic Narcissist inside him that can never be fully suppressed or controlled by anyone.

Just like IRL with American military intervention and Wikileaks evidence.

Surely you must be able to see the symbolism of Homelander, and American blind patriotism and military worship?

What you said may sound unrealistic to you, but it is literally what happens IRL. There has been no mass revolt in the US, despite footage and evidence showing US personnel murdering civilians (including kids). Noone cares that much.

Then people came to the conclusion that they needed Vought to stop the supe-terrorists. So they begrudgingly accepted at bringing down Vought would make them vulnerable to supe-terrorists.

Just like IRL where people accept an increasing technological surveillance state and draconian measures, to stop Islamic extremism and now COVID 19.

Problem-reaction-solution. That is actually a very real life public reaction.

Missing my point. It's not as much about realism as it is about consistency. The Boys keep using the legal system to bring down Vought.

The 7 kill people as collateral, the stakes are raised- they get an easy pass

The show tells us that if compound V is exposed, this brings down Vought. The stakes are raised and you're invested in an outcome - Vought gets an easy pass

The show tells you that a huge court case is about to happen. The stakes are raised. The ONLY people who needs the star witness dead is Vought. They kill him, nobody questions a thing and it's back to usual by the next episode - Vought gets an easy pass.

How am I supposed to care if absolutely nothing works to bring down Vought in any way.

It's not hard for any rational person to conceive that Vought were willing to sacrifice a few of their own to protect their multi trillion dollar company. Just because a couple of their people died doesn't mean they're off the hook.

Let's imagine one man is about to testify to blow the lid off Apple by exposing massive criminal aspects of the company. A gunman walks in and shoots up the star witness and also a bunch of randoms. People die, including 5 apple employees.

Do people say well hey.... Even though you're the only group who needs this witness dead....because a couple of your peons got killed, it can't possibly be you who did it let's forget this happened by tomorrow k

It doesn't work like that.

So does the fact that Homelander was able to "laser Strmfronts tits" without doing any lasting damage to her, but then

Spoiler!
Ryan was able to rip her to pieces and almost kill her imply that Ryan is stronger than Homelander? Or was Homelander only giving her a portion of his power (heh).

It literally does IRL politics. That's exactly what happens.

People who point posit scenarios like that IRL are dismissed as conspiracy theorists, and aren't taken seriously by the majority.

If you think about it from the people within the world, and not a bird's eye view that we the viewers have... All they have is suspicion, whereas the government, MSM, and Vought are all simultaneously telling the public that it's supe-terrorists. There's no hard evidence that it was Vought, and there is plausible reason not to suspect Vought because Vought employees were involved and killed.

Again, please think about it from the position of the public within the world of The Boys, and not our objective perspective as viewers.

Fanboys here are defending the chit out of this but it's just bad writing.

HL could clearly regulate his laser but the scene where he lasered Storm, I think she had knocked him on his ass and he was pissed and said he would kill her. His initial blast to her chest was clearly a powerful one and he expected to fuk her up. He realized he didn't and kept shooting at her. While she Lol'd at him.

There's absolutely no way that kids laser could be so powerful to completely jack her up like that in one quick burst. It's just a kid without any training, he shouldn't be able to take down the main Villain easily like that. It's Kylo Ren killing Snoke levels of absurdity. Just lazy ass writing.

Lazy writing. Sorry.

Supe terrorists have zero motivation to kill the star witness just as he's about to speak. None. It's too coincidental.

i honestly don't think you realize that they need vought to protect the country.... lol. vought has brought fear to the country by saying there are terrorist out there so now vought is needed to survive as a country in the minds of the people and government. why would the government bring down vought if they think they need them

You call it lazy writing, but again anyone who talks about False Flag attacks are dismissed as Conspiracy theorists.

Not from your perspective as a viewer, but from the public's perspective, there is no hard evidence and all the Authorities are saying it was supe-terrorists. Are you going to take seriously people on the the internet talking about 'Headexploder Truth'?

Do you take the 9/11 Truth movement seriously?

Do you take people who talk about COVID draconian measures being a pretext for a technological surveillance state seriously?

It's not lazy writing. It's the difference between being in an extremely stressful situation with adrenaline pumping leading to the ability to do things outside of normal capacity. That's a real thing even in the real world boyo.

Homelander wasn't pressed the same way. He was just pissed.

Also who's to say the kid isn't more powerful? He's a different breed. The first ever naturally born superhero as opposed to one concocted in a lab. Either way you choose to spin it you can have a valid argument for either case.

You're talking to a man that thinks that Starlight can beat Homelander.

Also who's to say the kid isn't more powerful? He's a different breed. The first ever naturally born superhero as opposed to one concocted in a lab. Either way you choose to spin it you can have a valid argument for either case.
Sure but the world needs to have some rules because if a kid can just randomly do that then next season we can have him warping through dimensions or traveling through time.

This is the same stupidity from DragonBall Z. Goku turning supersaiyan was shown to be a big thing in the universe. A monumental thing. Later in the show we have little 4 year old kids turning supersaiyan lvl 2 while laughing and eating sweets like it's nothing.

Homelander is shown to be the most powerful in this universe. His near maximum strength laser could be withstood by Storm for a minute. Storm can also take a 5 minute beatdown by 3 strong superheroes and be fine. So we can safely assume Storm is ranked #2 in the world.

Kid gets upset and destroys her in one atomic blast that's 50 times more powerful than anything we've seen Homelander do. I have no problem with the kid being able to do a burst attack and maybe stun her for a few seconds but obliterating her like that? Lmao even Homelander would have his hands full in a fight with her and it might take some time.

They just wanted the kid killing her to be a cool moment. That's all it was. I saw it coming a mile away. It was lazy.

He isn't a normal supe dude, you keep intentionally ignoring this key fact.

Every other supe has been a normal human who then gets injected with the compound, some take to it better then others. Homelander obviously came out the best of any the other babies they experimented on.

The kid has had compound V as a intrinsic part of him since conception, it's not a later add-on. That could easily mean (in this fictitious, make believe world) that he has absolutely insane power levels.

I'd go so far as to say they were clearly trying to tell the audience that with how he smoked Stormnazi like that. Him being young means he doesn't know how to control his powers yet, not that they aren't there necessarily.

pretty much this, shows you how powerful this kid is. probably why they moved him to a secluded area because they probably understand his potential

I mean at least rewatch the scene if you can't remember it correctly.

HL clearly held back with the first tiny blast after warning SF that he would cut her in half and even after that he didn't go all out.

From 1:00

We have no idea how strong HL's blast would be if he went full unhinged like Ryan. What we do know is that he has extreme control over the strength of his blasts, seeing how he managed to heat a plastic bottle with milk in it without the bottle flat out exploding.

Point is that Ryan has future potential to be a contingency plan against HL, but that's for the long game, unless the CIA has a hyperbolic time chamber to speed up his growth and some kind of expert on training supe powers. He isn't going to return after a long weekend and stomp out HL.

Did Becca actually get raped? Homelander said it was consensual Butcher said it was rape and Becca said it was rape. But that footage from the camera made it look like they had sex consensually.

TLDR; sloots gon sloot, had sex claim rape

You completely ignore my points about how easy it was to get over the compoint V situation. That should have ended them.
My broski, you fail to comprehend why the show is so appealing to us. The supes in the show are identical to us. Imagine you and me with super powers, you telling me you wouldnt be sloppy? Abuse your power? Get your d sucked by newcomer starlight?

You do realize that a vast majority of people irl with power are quite ordinary? Theyre not geniuses. Whether theyre polititians or whatever. You in fantasy land bruh

Lol at even thinking Storm is on the same level as Homelander.

How clueless you have to be? Of course HL controlled his laser power during that scene. He even said he could cut her in half, so of course he would start with small power.

Plus in the last ep he even said when he was facing maeve that he will wipe everyone if that video goes public which assumes he would have no issue wiping all superheroes too.
