looks like a lot of proprietary stuff. so if things go bad, it needs to be radian replacement

i'd avoid that. pry not an issue, but idk radian

Turn this up and wave my GLAWK out the window.

Based on pictures it looks like the shooting wasnt justified, one of the videos you can hear the spray before the shot though. Will have to wait for more info but I'd chalk it up as another both would be in a happier place if they had stayed home

would need to mount the trigger and brace. hmm seems like the others have mixed views on this lower. if you think about it from a tactical standpoint the ambi controls could be life saving if you got shot in the arm etc.

for sure would not have tons of 300bo rounds to blow at the range.

did you tryout that amsoil

Ambi is a nice feature, but more parts that can fail and as pointed out the replacements would be far less available. An ambi safety is available on pretty much any AR lower, so just mag release and bolt release. I can hit a bolt release on anything and drop it, so I wouldn't worry about needing to get it with your hand, a bot, a wall, your side, ect are all going to work.

Mag release is nice and all, but again, I can engage that with pretty much any body part easily as well. Try practicing things like that and it's much easier than you'd think, and it becomes pretty second nature; keep one hand in your pocket and practice manipulations to get used to it.

Parts availability would be my biggest concern, and more places things can break.

great post. so the biggest concern with this lower is going to be long term reliability and parts availability. might have to skip over this lower

Aero or Spike's are wholly adequate lowers.

BCM is usually also available

I have 2 Anderson lowers that have been great even, one is 4 years old and around 4k rounds through it and no issues at all; pretty much any mil spec (IMO) is going to be the same assuming it's from a larger manufacturer.

$200 extra on new peripherals already for that gun... probably drop another $100 later on then I'll be done. Going to be bad ass, and another gun on my 'want' list crossed off.

Related to that, decided I don't plan to get a Ruger Precision, been shooting the Savage a lot at distance around 400 yards and while fun enough, just not my thing; much further than that doesn't really interest me. Not into taking the long calculated shots, but glad I got the Savage to see if I like it before dumping a lot on a Ruger, and it is still fun at medium ranges.

I have no idea WTF you guys are talking about and kind of like it that way right now.

So, with that said, just generalities...pepper spray is non lethal 100%, and the use of pepper spray in and of itself in no way justifies a lethal force response, RE: two private citizens. Also, trying to take somebody's gun generally represents and justifies lethal force. Also also, you generally cannot claim self defense if you took any part in instigating or furthering the altercation.

In real life, fairly often, it may not even be a "this person justified, this person criminal" scenario, it is always possible for both parties to be legally in the wrong.

Totality of the circumstances.

And, avoidance always wins

I mean . . . someone has the full video of everything that happened there, since the various photos are out. I assume the photos come from video or that at least there are more pictures if not.

Another local news station is reporting that the shooter wasn't (and never has been) licensed as a security guard, which is required in Denver.

I don't think there's much debate as to whether or not he was really "security". The news station has basically confirmed he was working as a security contractor for them as a matter of policy hired through Pinkerton. Now . . . whether he is aligned in some way to Antifa or not will be chased down. He very well may be. But I think we can say definitively at this point is that he WAS hired security for the news station (Channel 9). He wasn't just some dude hanging around down there.

But this is going to be messy. Sounds like he's more like a contractor to a contractor who Pinkerton sourced from?

https://www.9news.com/article/news/c...5-cbd710b87f5f

DENVER — Records show the man being held for investigation in the deadly shooting near dueling demonstrators in Denver on Saturday was working as a security guard but was not properly licensed, 9Wants to Know has learned.

Matthew Dolloff, 30, was contracted through the company Pinkerton by 9NEWS. It has been the practice of 9NEWS for a number of months to contract private security to accompany staff at protests.

Pinkerton, however, said it does not actually employ Dolloff – Pinkerton did not share the name of the company for which Dolloff worked.

You guys should try living in California, where it's "yeah I mean he broke into your home, brandished a large knife, wrestled with you and then sprinted toward your kid's bedroom... but it's still 2nd degree murder you shot him twice. Once would have been plenty, if that"

In other news, finished processing that deer today. Taxidermist said it would be about a months for the European mount, but next summer for the hide. Oof...
how long did it take you to get proficient at processing it? Very few people i know process their own deer and pay someone to do it.

Yup! I used it to assemble a new M4E1 upper and lower. Like 15 pages back. You must have missed the call out.
