Khabib and His Father's Relationshop - How is the relationship with yours? srs

Just finished watching UFC 254 and Khabib breaking down about his late father. It seems Khabib had a great relationship with his and was well raised.

Kinda made me reflect on the relationship with mines

My dad beat me when I was younger has said all sorts of **** from wishing I was never born to not caring if I committed suicide. Haven't spoken to mine in a while.

Sorry about your dad brah. No dad should treat a son like that.

Thankfully my dad and I have a great relationship. He taught me a lot, mainly by action, and never beat me or made me feel like a failure. There are very few men in our family and we have kind of the passing of the torch to me from him as the man. Funny thing is he's 6'7 and yet makes me seem like I am a monster to everyone he talks to lol. Talks me up a lot. He races motorcycles (on legit tracks) and I am his pit crew when I can go with him. We do a lot of things like that. We're different in a lot of ways, but also same in a lot. Especially as I get older.

I'm 6'1.5. So quite a difference. He married a 5'3 blonde Swedish woman. My sister is 5'1 so thank God I came out as the tall one lol.

I wish I could find the picture of him next to me at my senior day in college for soccer. When he walked out with me you can hear everyone saying "holy ****." Was pretty funny.

this is what I am starting to notice as well. He is realizing his own mortality and that he doesn't have anyone to take care of him when he gets older except his own children.

He's tried to make amends with me, I've tried to accept them but sometimes those scars still hurt

Yea no one fukked with my dad. At one point used to work in one of the worst gang ridden areas in Chicago as a manager of a grocery store. Drove a cadillac. Everyone was afraid of him lol. He was on the news a couple times for shootings/killings on his street and things.

Here is the pic I found. He is probably 260lbs here. He was shrugging 140lb dbs for like sets of 30-40 (you can tell by his neck). Doing chest flies with 80lb dbs. I was maybe 180lbs here lol.

How do people not understand family are the only ones who will actually help you, and antagonizing them for no reason does not help either side?

How disconnected from others are you to beat someone domestically when you intend to work with them going forward?

Mine decided to give my money to his wife's family for the millionth time and got physical when I tried to confront him about it. He's now making things up about me to save face instead of just paying what he owes.

It helped me a bit. But it made my dad's neck explode in size. Might be a genetic thing for him. Although that's pretty heavy weight plus high volume.

Worth a shot. He was doing it 3x a week too for months.

Never. why should he? He doesn't want anything to do with raising a kid. And even though i'm an adult now, all he wants to do is live his own life.

I was an accident and my father wasn't present in my life, despite living in the same house. And my mother cared absolutely none and was a gambling addict.
I remember looking up old picture books and i only saw my siblings. I have zero pictures as a kid. That should say enough as to how much my folks cared.
Not to go all dear diary here, but you definitely don't get the teachings/raisings etc you'd get from a normal household. And it sets you back for sure.

Hence why so many kids being raised by single mothers and broken families etc end up unsuccessful.

Dang man sorry to hear. Must have been rough. Just keep crushing in life despite that. I don't get how people can be like that to their own family.
