It doesn't relate to Zodiac.

MBTI is a system formed from Jungian psychology. MBTI developed it originally as a method of assessing what jobs would best suit people. Very different intention and background to the Masculine archetypes, though both are derived from Jung's model of psychology.

Well all 3 make for entertaining FB quizzes.

And, unlike politics or religion, you can safely chat about them without creating a potentially violent level of rustle.

Really the worst thing that could happen is some people razz you about being an idiot (though hopefully an entertaining idiot), but they will probably enjoy feeling smug and superior and laughing at your dumb ass vs. feeling a real need to "fix" you.

ETA: If you COULD find some way to tie all that together and make it sound true you would probably have a very popular FB quiz...or an app...heck, maybe a book for the creative writing types.

I suppose if you want to see the world in terms of Dungeons&Dragons/Lord of the Rings/Game of Thrones imagery you can draw some parallels. But remember anytime you draw a line to demarcate something you are also creating a limitation.

Before there were warriors, kings, and magicians there were just men. Plain old men came first and then we created titles to describe what was already there. A King is never just a king; He's a husband, a father, brother, a son, etc, etc. Every King is also a fool, a magician, a warrior, and a peasant. Zoom in still closer and beyond those things he's just a man without titles, demarcations and limits.

So what does this mean? Before being a King, a Magician, a Fool, or a Warrior you must be simply a man. Work on that, thats' enough.

You seem to be taking this too literally. They are just psychological and spiritual states and inclinations. They aren't talking literally about kings, warriors, magicians or lovers.

All the books and videos say that every man has these states/archetypes within them, and that they are the blueprint/essence of any masculine personality.

Again, they are not literally talking about a feudal system. Just in case you think that. (I was taking to a friend about this, and he kept thinking they were talking about the literal position of kings and warriors.)

Jungian Psychology, and students and teachers of myths like Joesph Campbell state that there are enduring archetypes across civilization, and because of that they seem to part of the universal unconscious/subconscious. They King, Warrior, Magician, Lover is one model of the universal masculine personality. IME I used to love Eastern martial arts, and I believe I've definitely seen all those archetypes in Kung Fu movies, Samurai movies, and Buddhist stories.

You might prefer going directly to Carl Jung and Joseph Campbell, than the Robert Moore and Doug Gillette model.

Makes sense.

Or there is the list of 12 which seems unisex:
https://exploringyourmind.com/twelve...an-archetypes/

Or you can take a 20 question quiz.

https://www.playbuzz.com/benglass10/...ical-archetype

I don't which system this relates to:

Those are some crazy platform heels though.
Tried the 20 questions one, supposedly archetype 5: Seeker/warrior.

Some stuff I agree with it, others eh.
Interesting though experiment though.

LOL, yeah I had to overcome the cringe to take it seriously.

They used European medieval/folklore terms which potentially harmed their model from being taken seriously.

I'm curious how the other types are described and if the match up in some way to the Jungian model.

EDIT 2 the text incase SS didn't work:

Archetype 5: The Seeker/Warrior

Your inner seeker wants to explore the unknown. You have a strong intuition that there is something bigger and greater beyond your own reality. You embrace learning and are ambitious, although your perfectionist nature sometimes reaches too high and you end up disappointed. Your inner warrior is courageous, tough and always persistent. You aim to bring meaning to your own life and to others’ through your actions and behavior. You are often over-competitive at the expense of other people, but it’s a part of your desire to always succeed.

Life Goals: Search for a better way, winning
Fear: Conformity, entrapment, weakness, failure
Response to Problems: Escaping, fighting if the reward is great enough
Life Tasks: See the world, be a strong person
Personal Gifts: Autonomy, ambition, identity, courage, discipline
Personal Pitfalls: Inability to commit, chronic disappointment, arrogance, ruthless

I just assumed that people interested in creative writing - who had done research into theory - were already aware of archetypes and universal myths. Fantasy writers seem like they either explicitly or implicitly fully aware of archetypes.

From looking into film studies courses, studying myths and archetypes is part of the curriculum.

Warrior, king, lover hybrid checking in. I'm so fukking awesome haha!

There may be 'something' to this as in the sense that certain people have certain qualities. But he forgot the most important Archetypes. Incel losers that can't get right and have no positive attributes. Those that that contribute nothing to this world and only exist as a leach on society. Etc.

I was more pointing out that linking up the three of them (astrology, MBTI, Jung) into some kind of grand theory with cool sounding explanations of the three interacting could be a moneymaking idea.
If you are a Taurean INTP then you may experience the effect of the upcoming Venus transit of Mars particularly in the area of relationship building. Be aware that the interplay of your naturally passionate but reserved persona could develop some cracks due to these powerful energies.
Or some BS like that. And that is only trying to mash up 2 factors, not 3.

TFS. Tried to rep, but on spread.

Interesting that this type is portrayed as calculating the value of escaping vs. fighting while the Joker is said to destroy problems or make light of them. I would say for me between the two it is accurate that I have less of a need to observe/explore/become stronger and more of one to live in the moment/let stuff go (aka less over analysis and rumination).

After watching the videos i found myself reflecting back on personal experiences and tried to identify if i was acting as the mature model or as the shadow version. I believe it is important to admit and understand we are all of the mature models but we also can submit to the shadow forms from one time to another.

Thanks for the info ITT. I may do some of my own reading/research as this is fascinating to me.

You're welcome. You and I have been using the model in a similar way - looking at strengths, shadows and deficits.

In the original book they talk about the Boy psychology that precedes the mature masculine psychology, and also how the death of the 'Hero' within us is necessary to step into a mature psychology. The movie Top Gun is commonly cited as narrative about a man going from the Boy psychology to the mature male psychology... The death of the hero, and the birth of the warrior capable of humility and teamwork.
