Why did the Spanish love ethnic poosey?

Rape is another cope. These werent conquistadors they were just regular migrants. Conquistadors did marry native women quickly so the Native allies would be more trusting of them, but no mass rapes happened.

Most of the mixing happened during European migration lots of Spanish women came aswell. The Spanish ideology was of converting the natives which probably meant absorbing them into Spanish society and intermarrying with them once they converted.

It was probably encouraged for a Spanish man to mix with a non Spanish woman, but not the other way around.

i'm familiar with the spanish colonization to the philippines. same thing happened there and many of the women did it because lack of favorable men and it was their way to move up socioeconomically. the regular soldiers and the workers were assigned there for years and did not bring their spouses/families with them. many of them knew that if they were sent there, they would not be going back or did not want to go back.

Also, OP, you should know that during the "migration period" of Spanish colonialism, very few Spanishwomenactually migrated to the New World. This wasn't like in the English colonies, where whole families migrated to the colonies. Most of the European immigrants to the Spanish colonies were young, single men.

yea, but slavery for natives didnt last very long. Mixing was mostly during migration

Columbus landed in 1492, Hernan Cortes in 1519. I believe most of the mixing was with Spanish men, women of the Amerindian allies, and the women of the defeated enemy Amerindians. For example in Mexico the conquistadors had native allies who helped them defeat the Aztecs.These allies benefited greatly for being allies & they were never enslaved. In Peru Pizarro also had native allies who helped him defeat the Incas. His native allies also helped him fight against Diego de Almagro who also had native allies. Almagro was a conquistador who wanted control of the former Inca capital from Pizarro

Well the point is not every native male was a slave, and if they were it wasnt for very long. I believe like one poster said its likely many of them died & women made up a vast majority of the population. Kinda like current Russia but more extreme

Spanish didnt mix that much with Filipinas which is weird. I wonder why that was? Most filipinos are not mixed with Spanish, and if they are its very low percentages

Yea, but the mixing wasnt anywhere near as much. A lot of us are mixed especially in southern Spain. I'm mixed with some Italian, Irish, North African. The same people that invaded the Americas werent exactly the same people who the North Africans invaded. Most of the conquistadors came from areas that were previously occupied by North Africans.The average Andalucian is only 5% North African. While the average Latin American is 50-70% Spanish, so obviously it wasnt even close.

mixing did happen but it wasnt as pervasive as when they colonized south america. probably because spain had a smaller footprint there and there was more riches to be had in the new world. probably the distance too; easier to cross the atlantic to get to the colonies vice crossing multiple oceans to get to the philippines

There was less contact as there was already a lot of Chinese there who they were used to dealing with. So mostly they paid Chinese people to deal with the Filipinos.
