Legs, 275lbs for the 1990s standard of 15-20reps. Thats what I quote when asked how much my squat is (was).

1 RPM? Old timers at my original said never go to max on squats, hell never go less than 10 reps. And when the doctor said so, believe me, you listened.

Piston style minimum 5 sets, 120 secs rest in between. Only a coward quotes 1RM (for bbsquats)

There's so many guys at my gym that does a crap ton of reps for push ups and I really doubt any of them can do 10 push ups perfect.

I use to do sets of 50 push ups and get to 800-1000 total. Then I started trying to at least do 100 of them perfect; full scapula protraction, lower back flat, all the way down till chest touches ground and all the way up again to full scapula protraction at a controlled pace (no where near fast). Doing 10 reps of those is WAY harder than doing my normal 50 reps. Now the only way I do em is prefect.
Yeah, I always do push ups chest to floor, PAUSE, then up. Pausing at the bottom is a game-changer!

Do full protraction every single time, that's the game changer for me and trying to train planche is what lead to doing push ups as perfect as I can.....full protraction. Also, lean a little forward to depress scapula. This is a small leverage move, you should just have your big toe contacting the ground, not all toes/feet in contact rolled forward.

was watching a podcast from BBM and they ask the hypothetical: "what if every person would do the recommended exercise?" In my country it's something like 30minutes of activity every day and 2 times a week 1 hour of high intensity or strength training. It doesn't seem like much but it would have a HUGE impact on society.

Not really. Dips absolutely destroy your shoulders. All you're gonna do is create imbalances.

Bodyweight people are not about "body building" which is completely about how you look. There is no arms day in bodyweight. No how many different variations of doing concentrated arm curls in front of a mirror over and over. No laying on your back on a row cable machine doing an arm curl. I don't really care what people think I look like.

If you balance them out with a lot of rowing amd mobility work its ok

The issues come with adding a lot of weight to dips.

No. Doing dips incorrectly will destroy your shoulders. Just like doing any lifts incorrectly will injure you.

Dips; strong depression to always stay shoulders neutral, retraction/protraction scapula strength to always keep shoulders neutral. If you are ever doing anything but a complete vertical movement on dips, you are damaging your shoulders because you approached doing dips without knowing what you are doing. Just about every thing fitness related can damage you when you do it wrong.

They are able to push the weight. They are not able to keep shoulders neutral beprotractingdepressing scapula. Seriously, concentrating on what my scapula strength actually is has improved every thing. Stronger and not injuring myself.
