Feels like I cut the first rep a little high. Later seemed OK

good job, OP. While sifting through the mire of nihilism, depravity, and negativity that is the misc these days, at least there is the occasional real lifting thread like this that shines bright.

I stopped pushing back when I had achieved 315x9 in a commercial gym. I moved away, slowly built up my garage gym, got my power rack, and never got back up to those numbers. I've made peace with it now, but part of me still wonders what could have been.

Brah PR's started coming as soon as I learned the concept of fatigue management. All my back/shoulder/hip pains are now gone and I'm hitting PRs consistently. Took me 6 years of lifting to learn that chit LOL

What did you do different when you learned about fatigue management? Are you taking planned deload weeks or just lifting in a moderate RPE?

I had similar experience, as soon as I started to periodise my training properly, everything got better

“Steroids is now just a word that the lazy and ignorant use to describe any guy that has more muscle and dedication than them”– Mike O'Hearn

"I am like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym; I'm getting the feeling of cumming at home; I'm getting the feeling of cumming backstage; when I pump up, when I pose out in front of 5000 people I get the same feeling, so I am cumming day and night. It's terrific, right? So you know, I am in heaven."

thats why i dislike any routine that hits any body part twice a week. i like going to failure and beyond and letting my body recover for a week. i dont have to worry about fatigue management.

GJDM on the lift.

I still have a very basic understanding of it, but instead of having multiple top sets (3x5 etc) I now have a single top set and then 2-3 back off sets. And then a second squat day where I just do some light SSB/front squats and walking lunges with light weight/bodyweight. My SBD has felt the strongest ever with no inflammation/pains training this way.

Exactly right, although I train everything twice a week but with lower intensity on the second day, or a lighter variation
