My wife's a nurse and I'm pretty jealous of her schedule, she works three 12 hour shifts a week and that's it, and theyre usually grouped together and on weekdays; she usually only works one weekend a month and if she works one of her days off the bonuses can be pretty crazy... it's not a bad gig at all for two years of college.
Pretty much anything in the medical field is really good for job security and you can move just about anywhere and find a decent paying job.

If my son or my daughter want to be a crna or nurse practitioner, I'm all for it. The salary is as good as a lower tier doctor, and the schooling isn't impossible. I remember the pre-med kids in college - I definitely didn't want to study like that.
