I recounted a bit of my experience with older women earlier ITT, but part of my opinion here comes from the fact that developing youths are going to continue to come back for more. I got caught in a four year relationship with somebody who was 22 when I was 16. Was my first experience. Instead of being a high schooler, I was trying to grow up too fast. Missed out a lot. Maybe that has a lot to do with my opinion on all this. I don't regret it or feel any type of way about it, but it's definitely not a recommendation I'd make for a boy of 14 to do. My main point when i entered this thread was mainly to play devil's advocate. Not because i just want to get attention or anything, i did it simply because i legit believe that the law is extremely unfair sometimes and i simply didnt think this woman in particular deserved to be called a rapist, thats it.

The use of the word "consensual" is wrong here. Technically, a minor under 16 in that jurisdiction (the news story is from the UK) cannot give consent and it would be statutory rape. Was he willing? Sure, he may have been, but he still couldn't legally give "consent".

I'm sure if the adult was a male, they'd have been given a suspended sentence or immediate custodial or whatever - mainly because the initiating of penetration, in many jurisdictions around the world, is seen as much more serious thanbeingpenetrated.

IMO I would not be okay with my daughter having sex at 14 srs

I don't think most dads would be happy to hear that.

Also, I'd be a bit uncomfortable with my son having sex at 14, but for somewhat different reasons.

I mean, I think there's a level of "how much can we do and how much do we need to do" that needs to be addressed too.

I mean, as it stands, most parents do not (I feel) do an adequate job parenting. I doubt that most parents are equipped to give children that knowledge about sex education as well. I mean, how will they know when the right time to provide that is? Junior isn't about to tell mommy that he's ramming 34 year old Becky down the street now, is he?

All joking aside, I just think there's a level of "probably not a good idea to let it happen, let's be a little too strict until it's a less difficult terrain to navigate" that needs to happen
