I do stocks and ETFs and i have a conservative savings account that allows me to withdraw money whenever i need it, like some sort of emergency savings account
I would advise everybody to at least think about investments and not let their money get eaten by inflation, also its really fun to see the money getting more
Caution: You might become stingy

I'm a realist. I like to invest in technology and innovation. Because neither of those will be slowing down any time soon. And if they do, I've got bigger problems then the amount of cash I hold in the bank.

Its a lot easier to be disciplined when you reach that stage.

I am lucky enough to make a good amount of money and have all my needs covered. Even If I had millions vs what I have now, truly nothing in my life would change. So securing what I have now by getting out of debt is most important. Who knows I could lose my income tomorrow, but ill be much more secure financially and mentally not being in debt to anyone other than Uncle Sam like everyone else. The mental security of being debt free is severely underrated.
Also not having a mortgage payment allows me to pursue investments at a faster pace than most people.
There is some good videos of Dave ramsay and Kevin O'leary discussing the subject. Can't post links.

how the fuk do you pay for stuff if its all in the stock market?
Your emergency fund should be 6 months of expenses in a HYSA.
15-20% of your monthly pay should go to retirement investments
You should keep a small amt for daily expenses in a regular checking acct.
If you have upcoming large epxneses, you should save up in a seperate account...car/house/etc.

lol @ cashcels srs
3 months expenses in a checking account then into the markets
if you need more than that for a large unexpected expense just sell some stocks. it's not like they're all going to zero

I have like 30k in sneakers and sneaker bots srs. I'm dumping all my monies in sneakers because I understand the market and it's easy money.
I have a good amount liquid too but I was thinking of buying a used vehicle from a private seller that goes for around ~25k so I'm holding a lot in my checking. In the meantime half of my monthly salary goes to my mortgage, half into shoes.

Own my house, no mortgage. I live in a growing area. House has tons of potential. Has a finished basement, making it a full functional MIL suite, that could be an apartment. Things like that, thinking of other projects. Since I've been here more than 2 years, if I sell, it's tax free.
What I don't like about stock market gains is that when you gain, it's taxed, so hear you are putting your money at risk, and then getting penalized if you gain, but if you lose money, you have to lose so much money before you can write it off. Not a big enough baller to make it worth it really. So besides 401K, that's it. Maybe this isnt' the case for everyone, but for mine, I'm putting my money where it most likely will gain me. I do know that I could lose some if the market drops on housing, but it always rebounds.
