Alberta brah, it makes no sense at all. I can go to wal mart with hundreds of people but I cannot go to the gym with maybe 25 and everyone is wiping everything down? I can go to a liquor store or pot store but can't get a haircut?

WRT the covid bucks:
I was listening to a podcast where the CRA did a mass mailout of letters before Christmas to people that were possibly ineligible for CERB benefits. I'm talking people that were playing dumb, trying to use rental income or RRSP withdrawals as lost income to meet the $5000 annual threshold. Or simply making a fraudulent application.
Now of course they can't pay it back because of Covid. And there is some pressure to just forgive it. Could you imagine? Some dude making $100k a year who didnt lose his job getting CERB benefits and then its just forgiven?

fukn lol, I forgot the number but a good chunk of those were fraudulent applications. I'm sure they'll do some mass audit some time down the line (I think personal income tax audits can be done up to 10 years from when filed I forget) but still that takes a lot of money and resources. The pressure is coming mostly from Jagmeet Singh and the NDP, "just forgive the chit". Fukn lmao. Money printer go brrrrrrr.
As a college kid I made maybe 800-900 a month. Lol at these kids getting 2 grand a month.

And my 5000 square foot gym with a limited capacity of 15 people has to close while Walmart and Costco have hundreds of people in them and the liquor store is lined up out the door.
All this pandemic has done is expose people who are stupid and selfish. And that our provincial government really has zero idea what they are doing and no willingness to enforce anything.

This is mostly short-term noise anyways, the current vaccines will almost certainly deal with new strains with the same effectiveness. But this does lead to something people had already been talking about: COVID becoming like influenza, where annual tweaks and vaccination campaigns are required as this continues

Boys I can’t deal with this. I need to leave the house. Can’t even work from home from university campus to pick up chicks because you have to book a spot. Wanted to at least sign up for Muay Thai and kickboxing but the thought of wearing a mask laced with synthetic fluoride doesn’t sit well with me. Gotta make a custom mask.

I feel bad for ontario citycels.
Up here in the north its tough to relate since literally nothing changes here in lockdown mode.
The biggest concerns anyone here has is whether or not the snowmobile trail system will open. It is written in the lockdown policy that they will, so people are breathing easier.
I have friends who are gonna lose their jiu-jitsu gym. Sucky deal for them.
