My brother is a physician. I studied medicine as well (changed later to comp sci. but doesn't change what i am about to tell you).

If you think that the covid vaccination is a conspiracy / human control / totalitarian government chit, you are, and there is no question about it, a fuarking retard.

How can we know about long term sides if long term hasn't passed since development? You can guarantee its safe 4 years down the line in only 9 months of development/testing?

There are no mysterious long term effects. Vaccines are very simple, in layman's terms: you destroy/remove the 'dangerous' parts of the virus. you inject a non-harming dose of said modified virus in your system.
Your body is developed to destroy any foreign matters in your system and will afterwards also create 'fighter cells' (i.e. immunise the body) that will fight against any similar foreign matters for future encounters.

I am not anti vaccine, but I am in no rush to get it. I've been good since this crap started, why shot myself with some unknown substance when I am perfectly fine. As a bonus, recent blood work came back near perfection.

I thought the whole basis of this vaccine is that it's NOT a weakened/muted version of the virus, but forces our DNA to create a similar protein which elicits an immune system response?

So in that vein, how can we know there aren't long term effects?

OP I was with you until this. You only explained a regular vaccine, but we all know the Covid one is an mRNA vaccine so there's no virus injected at all.

mRNA vaccine for covid is injecting "instructions" to your cells to build the spike protein that covid uses to spread around with. Essentially by building this new protein the immune system doesn't recognize it and will bring planning an attack. Once it has a plan to destroy this protein you will probably experience classic symptoms of illness such as being cold, a slight fever or aches.

After the body learns how to destroy the protein it is stored by your immune system and your body expels the mRNA, which doesn't ever affect your DNA by the way. The plan is that once covid enters your body it can't spread like crazy while your body plans an attack, instead your immune system will recognize the spike protein that carries covid and will immediately begin attacking it.

If I was old or had a weak immune system, sure I would take. Because at that point covid is actually a risk.

But if covid has a 99.99% survival rate for my age group then why bother? I'm sure it'll be just fine but I'm not 99.99% sure
