Seriously don't get it. They miss a target (stock rallied when target announced), overall market is sliding, competition is ramping up, they're already at insane FPE, political headwinds, etc etc. I don't get it.
My GME puts are keeping me from hopping off a roof tho so that's cool.

$24.50 has the highest premium for the week at $.85 (at the time this paragraph was written) so I’d be making an easy $1275 whether or not it gets to $24.50
Heck, the premium for a $24 weekly is $.95 and current PLTR price is $23.90. Wouldnt it be EASY money to purchase 15 contracts and make nearly $1500 on a 10 cent price movement?
Or is there no guarantee of assignment?
I have to be missing something. There is no way I can just wait until PLTR drops to $23.40, buy 15 covered calls at $23.50 strike with $.95 premium, and make $1425 once it hits $23.50, and then REPEAT this process all day.

But remember you need to wait til expiration to receive full profit.
I used to have an AVI of my traps and neck. I changed it a while back and tried editing my user title but this website is glitched and it will not let me change it anymore.

If the strike price is reached today for example, there may or may not be assignment (most likely not). If I wanted the full profit I would have to close my covered call manually. Right? So instead of sell to open, I would buy to close. However, would that result in me buying shares? Or would it be a net zero, meaning I’d buy 1500 shares to open but I would sell 1500 shares to close right after, effectively closing the covered call? Seems like that would also cause me to lose the premium

Chit. I think I get it now. The strategy I suggested wouldnt work.
If I purchase 1000 shares of PLTR @ $23.90 and buy a covered call @ $24.00 strike, $2 premium, weekly expiration, if the price hits $24.00 before expiration there is no assignment (realized this a few posts above). When I purchased the call I received a $200 premium. Now, if I wanted to close the call early (at say, $24.10 since there isnt automatic assignment before expiry), I would have to buy to close at that price. However, at $24.10 since the covered call is now ITM and the time decay is irrelevant or greatly reduced, the price of the covered call has increased, so I would be paying a premium higher than what I received, and taking a loss on the trade.
Now, at expiration, if the price of the stock has gone beyond the strike, I’m not going to see any profit above the strike (which I understood before, but now it makes more sense). Although I could buy back in right after assignment, I only keep premium until expiration hits, so I’d be making a bad move paying a high premium for a call thats close to being ITM.
Is this correct?
Edit: I think there’s a simple way to get the added profit that covered calls limit you on - just set a limit order right below the strike price on the day of expiration, for the quantity of shares in your covered call.

Not sure if market is reaction to Trump tapes, handing Georgia election to Dems.
But than again most people already voted.
Market would probably correct 10% down if Dems sweep Georgia.

also, literally no offense meant towards ToP, but he is just now starting to learn about selling options, so if you want to imply a call spread or a PMCC, then you have to actually say it. And then give an example.
