You getting pissed off at that has more to do with you my man. I know you already said it's going to sound selfish, but if it really pisses you off that someone who has just as much of a right to use the machine as you do, no matter how many times they will go this year, then that's something YOU can fix on your own. Looking deeper into why you feel angry and actually understanding it and learning how to subdue your anger will help you in other areas too. There's not much you can control in this world, but your emotions and perspective on things IS one of them, and it can be one of the most eye opening and fulfilling things you can work on.

This happens every year. So why get all worked up about it. It will pass in a few weeks time. Adapt around the new circumstances. Not too hard.

Went this morning and some sloot was hogging the power rack.

So I opened the garage to try to freeze her out. It worked.

Why do these people waste their time with a gym membership when they will never return after the 15th of this month?
years ago some guy used to make a comic here for new years, does he still do that

Fkn lmao

Mine has been getting busier the last week. I know they will only last a few weeks so doesn’t bother me that much. I just go and use different equipment for the time and deal with it. Personally it sucks that they don’t last that long and people don’t stick to making themselves better.

I am very grateful for them. For the rest of the year, they'll be subsidising my gym membership by continuing to pay but not turning up.

I’m happy to have what I need do do my workouts at my home gym for the next month.

Have a squat rack, bench, barbell, plenty of plates.

I’m missing a cable crossover for accessory work, but it’s not necessary. I’ll just be sticking to the basics anyway.

I always take a 2 week break starting on the first Monday after a new year. I take that time to do some outside cardio, stretching, and resting really. The main reason though is to let the resolutioners do their first two weeks and then largely disappear after then, and then latest by the start of February. But with COVID and the fact that I've already missed too much, I can't take that kind of break this year and I'll be in there today after work. I was in the gym over the weekend and it was pretty normal. But my gym is pretty big and the best gym around right now so it will probably be absolutely packed when I go in today. I also expect there to be a spike in cases in my gym so I'm going to bet it will be shut down within 2 weeks srs.

I don't mind the resolutioners because we've all started in those shoes before, my main issue is the people who just take up space, leave chit all over the gym, and don't focus on working out. Every January the gym is always packed, dumbbells are all the way across the gym sitting in a corner, cable attachments are everywhere on the floor, and people will sit and watch TV on a bench for like 5 minutes between sets. You also get stared at a lot if you can actually lift, and on a few occasions I've received unsolicited advice from the "juice" I was putting in my shaker bottles and how my gains weren't legit. The "juice" was actually a half scoop of BCAA's so I could have some flavor to my water during workouts.

Yeah it's not horrible for what I get there so I've just kept it. I'd much rather pay a premium either way though to keep out the undesirables.

I remember visiting with my brother and going to his 24 hr fitness when they had that costco 3 year deal plan and it was just hoards of people hanging out socializing in groups blocking equipment.

I looked into an equinox membership and they were charging something crazy like @ $195 a month for the location near me or $270 a month for access to multiple locations. lmao that's rich.

Not me, I love empty gyms. Miss my work gym being open. I'd go late afternoon Sat and usually be the only one in there and I'd blast my bluetooth speaker. Was heaven!

I skipped the gym yesterday so I'll see next Sun if there's any resolutioners. Since I don't go at peak times anyway I'm thinking it won't be bad.

Very nice man, I have a similar plan to upgrade my 43" TCL TV that I have in the living room right now, and move it to a wall-mounted spot in the garage. At some point after I have everything electrical placed where I want, I'll go back and tuck/drop all the wires behind the paneling.

And I know what you mean about enjoying your local gym. I've just moved around enough to the point where it's been years since I've felt at "home" in a commercial gym.
