Each their own... I lived with roommates in my early 20s while in college.
Was a freakin blast. As I got mid twenties though - f that. I wanted my place, my privacy, my own chit. If I wanted to see my buddies, I'd go hang out with em. To me it was perfect bein in my mid 20s in my own place.
Everything was to my desire. When left town, everything was as it was before I left. Didn't have any roomie drama. When dating, having the entire place to yourself much more private and felt more adult.
That bein said, if you can't afford it on your own cause high cost of living, it's prolly normal in the area and expected. I would highly recommend trying to take care of yourself by yourself solely and not rely on anyone else for company/bills/etc.

It becomes not cool when you’re not cool.
4 of my frat/college bros live in a penthouse in Chicago, all make 6 figures, and their life is basically work, crushing beers while watching sports, and slaying grad students and bartenders with questionable morals.
My married friends wives throw a lot of shade at their lifestyle, but the married brahs are all quietly jealous.
If you’re balling and living the dream, no problem with roommates. More pizza and beer money to go around.

Im 31 about to be 32 and living with one of my closest friends. It makes things cheaper and it allows me to build up a savings for a house. I don't see an issue with it. Obviously the goal is to move out on your own, but id rather live with a buddy and save up for a house than pay twice as much in rent for a solo apartment long term.

Only a dumb, insecure wagie would financially cuck himself to try impress others and live up to some imaginary standard
