Trump's twitter permabanned and Parler (twitter alt) faces app store ban

Think this is totally fine, but seems shortsighted. Any chance repubs take control in 4-8 years and try to get revenge? Maybe our anti-competition laws will finally start being enforced (by repubs of all ppl).

How long until web browsers censor certain sites? Safari, Chrome, Edge.. all big tech.
How long until ISPs ban certain sites? Like independent news media and alternative platforms

Republicans refused to go after big tech when Trump showed them the way. They were to weak, and the republicans in congress are owned by China. Face it boyos it’s over we’re all fkd. No peaceful way to return to normal. And people are to weak to fight back.

Even if they could justify this one banning, because of who the person is and the raw influence they carry it's still a bad move. Now there's a precedent and all that they have to say is that person x is a domestic threat and that'll be enough to justify banning them. Does anyone really think that when a company realizes that they can shift entire narratives by promoting certain views and banning all others they won't do it? Or that interested parties with muscle, money and power won't attempt to have them push their interest and subdue the opposition?

Parler is just racist twitter though, let's be honest.

There are solutions outside of trying to rely on the political process.

Centralization is arguably a key problem, decentralization is the solution.

We're already near the bottom. Look at what's happening around the world. People on one side of the political spectrum are getting banned and exclused everywhere. People are getting arrested for hugging people on the street or not wearing certain clothing to signal they're a covid fearcel. People are getting ratted on by their neighbours and dragged out of their own homes by the police, for celebrating Christmas.

And the means of peaceful resistance are being taken away slowly. There's not going to be a peaceful way out of this.

There are peaceful ways. Gray market activity - Buying and selling for cash and cryptocurrency. Starve the government of financial support.

Living semi-off gird.

Organizing in small groups to take care of one another.


I feared this would happen. I honestly think that Qanon was a psy op, and Trump may have just been a 'useful idiot' rather than in on the deep state's agenda. They used him, and then tossed him aside after he burned all his bridges (E.g. Pence) and tossed his most loyal followers under the bus (his speech about what happened on capitol hill).

Because so many Trump supporters treated him as a messiah, IMO too many people are possibly going to become blackpilled and think "He was our only hope!". Complete horsechit. That was what 'they' wanted you to think. They wanted you to rely on the political process.

Ha I thought same about Qanon because the effect of it has been absolutely chilling: ppl legitimately shrugging off human trafficking as a conservative conspiracy theory. But I think they actually have a good idea who is behind it, and it is actually just some crazy guy.

Trump was a bad guy and a negative influence on the right, but his influence on the left is even more disastrous. Their ideals now seem to be basically "whatever is against trump". So China as an actual geopolitical threat is just totally dismissed, even though this was a valid part of Trump's agenda. Using fear and intimidation, and actually literally being against free speech, are all OK as long as it is anti-trump. The working class (i.e., the ppl the left used to defend), fukk those guys they voted for trump.
