Elon gets away with murder, for now, because he moves the 'green needle'. Once critical mass is reached and EVs have proliferated throughout the entire industry they will turn on him.

I’m just simply pointing out your position is all an opinion as to why someone is doing something.

You said with certainty their beef was the reason, yet musk has posted publicly about issues with tech controlling speech. It’s almost as if you’re ignoring his visible thoughts and assume ones behind closed doors.

Strange way to approach a debate.

Cheers,

Cheers,
I don't think that pointing out that Musk and Zuckerberg having been at each others' throats since 2016 is a strange way to approach a debate. It is absolutely personal, and they've been chit talking each other for 4 years now. Musk asked both SpaceX & Tesla to delete their ******** pages well before any of this started. He's been a #delete******** supporter since 2018. All of this is well documented, and started when a ******** satellite was destroyed by a SpaceX rocket in 2016. Musk has no issues with Google, youTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter etc... It's personal.

Your argument assumes the only reason he is doing this is because of their personal beef with zuckerberg as indicated by the direct quote above.

Musk’s tweets are contrary to this. Your argument is literally made up on your feelings.

Cheers

Can't really get rid of all social programs. The idea behind UBI is that it helps enough on the consumption side and improves quality of life. The money gets cycled around and boosts your economy more than it would have on the investment side, ideally.

UBI is a necessary inevitability BUT and this is a massive BUT.....

It needs to emerge in a form where people can only use it for intended necessities AND it cannot be used to create permanent voting slaves.

There is no chance in hell that either of these things will be true so for now UBI would amount to nothing more than "free stuff in exchange for votes".

You could get rid of most of them.

But then it would require people to have personal responsibility not to spend it all in the first week on iphones

Probably more than half are dumber.

I know it wouldn’t work. I just wish the majority of people weren’t idiots

It’s only a necessary inevitability if you have a low-skill wagecuck job like working at gamestop or being a cashier. Spend time to improve your workset quality and you won’t have to worry about this.

The future wont have unlimited employment capacity for people like this. If you are paying attention to where everything is going we will reach a point where low employment will be the reality.

I made my way in the world of technology already, twice, so this isn't my problem but within 30 years many jobs simply wont exist anymore.

Personally, I believe that a society cannot consider itself civilized until it can claim the following:

People do not go hungry.
People do not go homeless.
People have unlimited access to basic education.
People have unlimited access to basic healthcare.

You can attempt to put a patchwork of programs together to cover this but it makes more sense to have a lowest level of life clearly defined and supported.

The issue right now is that the left wants to weaponize all of this in an effort to lock an entire population into perpetual voting slavery.

The only way UBI should exist is in a politics free form and it should have restrictions. For example you should not be allowed to use UBI to buy junk food, live in a luxury apartment, take endless SJW based classes or get elective surgery/get endless "happy pills".

As it stands right now the left looks to exploit UBI to attain insurmountable power and control and the right rejects it due to their hatred of giving stuff to people they feel don't deserve it.

I don't want voting to be in any way attached to UBI, I don't want it to be connected to politics at all. I want to see it as part of society where we simply do not accept people living below a certain level. I also want to see people take responsibility for rising above this level through their own actions.

In addition to this.. I am sure Musk's vision of UBI is because he figures technology will outpace our adaptation to it at some point, making it a necessity. I doubt he wants UBI passed by Biden and then for people to quit their low wage jobs now. Two very different scenarios for UBI and I can only sympathize with one.

That only people that want UBI today are the ones wanting insurmountable left wing power. We eventually need it, just not with this friggin 2 party system in charge of it.
