Is the corporate world the worst place to work? [srs]
Holy ****, I am so annoyed right now. Yeah, better than being unemployed and have no money but some things are getting quite out of hand:
brb promotions are a lot of the time based on how visible you are, how much you network and how you play your cards in things not related to your role/what you produce for the company
brb fast-tracked promotions in the USA will be now based on "protected characteristics" (supposedly those you shouldn't discriminate on)
brb top executive positions are another level of politics and hard af to get
brb new things that annoy me is how unstructured/jungle-like is everything:
-- compare professions like police, lawyer, doctor, teacher ---> vocational ---> straightforward ranks, positions, day-to-day duties,
-- now in the corporate same job/function (finance, sales, software dev, marketing) can vary depending on the company
-- using some specialised ambiguous names for simple jobs - e.g HR position for organising graduate events "Technical Organisational Lead" (WTF?!) creating a role called "Stakeholder Management"
brb recruiter/headhunter retards abuse the above and since their job-candidate matching rate is their sales bonus they will present every job as if you are changing the world

As a guy who has worked in corporate america his whole life, I'd highly suggest being careful where you choose to work.
Money can be made but your experience depends on your employer

If it makes you feel better a 100 years ago a man could lose his entire lifesavings because of a bad harvest.
Or you wouldn’t get a promotion because you’re Irish or Italian.
It sucks but it could be worse.

At best, white guys will perform a fraction better than minorities.
Then you get Asian men who clearly perform several times better than everyone else, and literally do an entire department's worth of work, but are permanently kept at the lowest rung, and employed only when needed (ie. work needs to get done)
Protected minorities provide company culture and nothing else.
White guys provide "leadership", regardless of how good or bad they are. At best, they are a fraction more productive than the above.
Asian men do all the work.

When an Asian man makes a mistake that affects nothing at all, he gets screamed at and gets a formal written warning.
A white guy can do no-shows for weeks, lose the company millions, and senior management will be there to put their arm on his shoulder and chalk it up to learning experience.
Literally seen it happen on the same day. White guy suddenly took 2 weeks off to surf when client was in the middle of a listing, DGAF, so lost the company millions in fees. Directors came over and joked with him when he came back. Meanwhile, his Asian co-worker was ordered by his manager to use an older share price in a calculation, which worked out to be a couple hundred dollar difference out of hundreds of millions overall, director went from joking with the white guy, straight to him and began screaming at him in front of everyone, till he was red in the face. Literally his first "mistake" in 5 years. When he brought up that the manager specifically told him to do so, the director just got angrier and asked him if his manager asked him to jump off a cliff, would he do so. No guesses as to the race and gender of his manager.
There's what they expect from protected hires (bantz)
There's what they expect from white guys (bantz and white boys leadership club)
There's what they expect from Asian men (All the work to be done without mistakes, all the responsibilities, and none of the power)

Yes the corporate world is a steaming pile of ****. The worst part is having to move to another company after X number of years because they will do everything in their power not to give you a raise.

As for the personality, again it depends on the crew. However, office politics is always office politicsifthere is a PC HR department, a good crew can make an office job enjoyable.

I've been told in multiple reviews across different firms that I complain too much. The only response I've ever gotten is suck it up princess.
Meanwhile, some white guy pouts over some minor issue, and the entire senior leadership rushes there as if baby dropped his lollipop. Some white grad was complaining about his mouse being chit, and the very next day, balm, brand new gaming mouse that he can program macros on. He didn't even ask anyone for a mouse. I've been complaining about the mouse for years, till I got carpal tunnel, and had to bring my own mouse in.
Other bullchit, like Asians are passive, Asians are not ambitious enough, Asians don't have leadership, etc. If you work anywhere long enough, you'll find out its pure bullchit.
If you're a white guy and can't reach senior management by literally just being a warm body in the office, you're doing something seriously wrong.

However, I would have to tell you that being passive is definitely a very consistent trait among Asian brahs who have come as Masters students and stay in the West to work. And since my point above
If a white brah goes to China would he be treated equally or a priority just because he is white? I doubt so.
Another factor is that the mentally ill liberals think that Asians are now as privileged as White because their virtue-signalling streamlining does not work otherwise.
