I've been trying to snag a 3080 for a few days using one of these bot monitoring discords and the second something comes in a stock the thing crashes and the cards are out of stock lol.

Yeah, there was at least 10 of us in my group trying to grab that Strix that popped up.

I did manage to grab a 6800XT though. Don't really need it. Can use it as a bargaining tool though.

Well hopefully at least one of you got the Strix lol. There's actually been a decent amt of 3090's pop up lately but I just cant justify paying $2k for one right now. I'm trying to snag a 5900x too. I could've pulled the trigger on a 5800x today but I can be patient. This whole situation [and the world in general] is just nuts right now.

The Ryzen 3600 I picked up was actually a very decent binned one.

Saw a guy say 4.3 ghz @ 1.15vcore llc3 was stable on the recent 2020 batches.
Have been running this stable since. Tuned my ram as well, bought some cheap 3600C17 ram that I managed to tune, it was the best Hynix die.

Will try to get 4.5 ghz later today.

I’m really hoping to get the 3080 this year, am I right in saying I need at least a 750ww psu?

Also what are the chances I will need to upgrade my case ?

Or should I wait for the 3080TI?

Depends what your CPU is. If you say had a 3600 and a 3080 a 600 watt will be fine.

The 10900k your CPU alone could be drawing 300 watts under boost.
If you had a 3600/5600x you will be under 100 watts under boost.

Unless you have a mini... probably 0?

Hideo Kojima's death stranding is nuts. Picked it up during steam's winter sale but its worth even the full price.

The story is pretty dope. It's like set in a doomsday alternative universe.

Yeah, it is a walking simulater but the sparse intermittent music, great controls (playing with xbox controller) and landscapes makes it perfect.

Also, like P.T. there are fun horror scares as well.

Wood recommend.

A 9700k pulls 235 watts when fully loaded stock. 3080 pulls 350. Throw in other system stuff. IMO 700 Watt PSU minimum.

If you have an ITX case I can't imagine it would be able to vent your space heater well enough to prevent thermal throttling. So yeah I would count on a good case too.

Hmm. Interesting chip



Have stresstested it for a while with:
Intel Burn Test
Prime95 (didn't hit the temps at all)
Aida64

Did multiple runs with CB20.

It's beating the 9900K in single threaded, and breathes the "best" 8 core chips in the neck with its mt performance.

Comparing it with 5600X I am 15% behind in st and 7.5% in mp (compared it withhttps://www.sweclockers.com/test/307...yzen-5-5600x/4).

Stable system with 4.5 GHz @ 1.2V, 3600MHz memory with 16-19-21-36 timings.
Intel Burn test standard run - max temp 69.6 celsius cpu (tctl/tdie).
All this with the cheapest B450 (Asus Strix B450-F) board of quality I found and the cheapest 3600MHz ram (HyperX Fury RGB DDR4 3600MHz 16GB).
Both cost me around 90 bucks each.

Finally managed to buy a 3080.
Got a Palit 3080 GameRock, they increased the price by 56 bucks just as they marked them as "in stock". 1042 bucks pre-tax.
Same cooler as the 3090 edition which was really good in the reviews I looked at, both got an excellent award.

Still got my order in for a Zotac 3080 for 640 bucks, but that one will most likely go on our local craigslist.

Do some of you guys have the Nano-IPS 144 Hz+++ panels from LG?
(Used in Asus, LG and Dell monitors atleast)

I am considering buying a monitor that will work as an office monitor, gaming monitor and a media monitor.

I have looked at:
Alienware 38" AW3821DW 3840x1600 Nano IPS, 144hz, G-Sync v2+
LG 38" 38GN950 3840x1600 Nano IPS, 160hz
LG CX48 (obviously) 4K OLED
Asus 32" PG329Q 2K Nano IPS 165 Hz
LG 27" 27GL850-B 2K Nano IPS 144 Hz

The problem I have is that 1) 27" is too small for office work, I'll be needing a secondary monitor 2) Same as 1 with the 32" 3) The cost of the 38s" is more than the CX48, but it's more suitable for normal ergonomic usage 4) The 48" OLED has the superior colors and can be utilized as the perfect media consumption device even without watching videos via my gpu (stream them, either locally or not).

Probably more things to consider, but this is for my secondary setup which currently is using an old 24" Benq 144Hz CS:GO monitor basically. If I take the plunge on the OLED I'll probably be running custom resolution 1920x1080 or 1650x1050 during games of CS.

What's your budget?

I quite like the ASUS ROG ones but they can be expensive, I am using a 32 inch MSI 1440 monitor at the moment and no complaints.

I have one like that at my other setup, a Dell 32" S3220DGFhttps://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell...or-accessoriesand it's okay.
But I have 2 quite good 27" monitors in addition to that one.

At this setup I am sitting on 2x24" and I was thinking that I might get one monitor to rule them all. The problem is that it's something that's very hard to find, the 38"s or the 48" is the only ones that can fully do that on reasonable display ratios (I don't like the 49" since I don't even like the 34" 1440p ultrawides).

Budgetwise I can buy the 38" or the 48", but I am more at the stage of "Is it even worth spending that much on a monitor?"....

forgot to post in here, got a LG CX 48" to replace the old 34" ultrawide, never going back to traditional monitors. Thing is ~1500 bucks and shiets all over monitors at a similar price

It’s in the same family as the 38 and the 27 I mentioned, but I can’t stand the display ratio of 1440p ultrawides. They feel extremely low in height.

I've passed up opportunities to grab various 3090s since launch and finally pulled the trigger on an ROG STRIX OC 3090, but they're more available because they're fukn expensive. In fact there's one sitting on Newegg right now in a 750W PSU combo (lol)

Personally never seen a 3080 in stock long enough to consider buying it but didn't go to the lengths of joining a discord and all that. Before picking up this 3090, I was hunting on Kijiji and ******** marketplace for people reselling for a <30% markup
