I'll bet you this is their stance though, whether you agree with it or not

And they're focused on the long term. Pain up front and people pissed off right now, but they think they're saving a wave of newbie investors from losing money and then avoiding the market for who knows how long afterwards

Lol all of a sudden so many people are worried about how others are spending their money. If people eat chit on this who cares they know what they are getting into when they toss money at a crazy volatile stock, and if they don't it is their own fault. Don't need others stepping in to make that decision for them.

Obviously they know they stand to lose money, but you should at least understand what the hell is happening.

a lot of people with no understanding of what happening are opening up accounts and rolling the dice on meme stocks. its insane

The argument will be (not that I agree) that these hedge funds (its not just Melvin and their funders) also are long stocks, and when they get huge losses like this they have to pull out of their long positions and that pulls the whole market down. My dad is mad at reddit for pulling his stocks down.

I don't know what you idiots are having a hard time grasping. Yes, my FIL could have been more diversified and could have made a better exit. He did do a lot of research beforehand though, and actually went out and toured the company.

Yes the company was taking a beating from cheap Chinese solar panels, but they also were in a good cash position and held multiple patents w/I was told work in progress towards a couple of more potentially profitable patents.

By tearing one of their competitors down just helps them.

Melvin made the dumbest move possible, but other banks are probably excited at the gains they're about to receive from new clients.

This.

This is all a glorious endorsement of cyrpto. It's going to force a lot of people to go all in on bitcoin.

Btc pump is inevitable.

PS never thought I'd agree with AOC on anything, crazy crazy times.

Now that Wall Street is onto this game, they'll play it and play it better.
