Sen. Elizabeth Warren lambasted the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, blaming the regulator and its failure to act for a chaotic dayslong blitz of market speculation.
"We need an SEC that has clear rules about market manipulation and then has the backbone to get in and enforce those rules," Warren said. "To have a healthy stock market, you've got to have a cop on the beat."
"That should be the SEC," she added. "They need to step up and do their job."

It's a massive gamble for them, but at this point they're screwed either way, so they're making a play hoping we flinch.
Just keep in mind the current rates are still higher than they were a week ago. The short squeeze will still happen as long as people don't sell.

Check this screener out, shows all US Stocks with >30% short float. A good 30 of the 56 stocks are showing short squeeze gaps (hover over the stock symbol and a graph pops up). This looks to be bigger than reddit?

GME has 95% institutional ownership. I don't think 5% of the float could've caused this reaction? Maybe I'm missing something. Won't the institutions just start selling until it gets back down to $20 range? Still at a hefty 123% short
Shows a good amount of financial data that updates daily:

Anyone looking for the next sector that WSB and reddit will get into, look at gold and silver. Gold especially as it is the most heavily shorted commodity in the world. Something like 1000000 x more gold has been sold on paper than actually exists in physical quantities.
Gold is the ULTIMATE short squeeze and it is only a matter of time until that sector gets hit with massive FOMO buying.
I like GORO and MUX a lot and both started to make a move today. Both have GME potential imo.

In the past 10 months I have made $7.5 Million in profits, including over $700 K in profits last week in MITI, which is documented in the stocks and investing thread.
I have traded on the CBOE trading options in Chicago for 7 years, and have been a stock consultant and Investor relations for multiple companies over the past 15 years.
I live and breath the stock market and have since I was a 10 years old.
As for bags? I just bought 100 K shares of GORO late afternoon and after hours. I will add up to 300 K more.
I have no bags.
Fawk off kid.

Gold has been the most shorted commodity in US history. It only makes sense that they would start piling into that sector.
As for GME being a rare case? Not it isn't. It is just a hedge fund run FOMO stock. There are lots of stocks with heavy short positions out there. It's a POS that will be bk soon. And the stock will be back to $5 by spring. Mark my words.
I will give you a tip. Remember I am the one who brought MITI to this board in Dec at 2 cents. It just hit 59 cents. That is up 3000%.
CTYX is next. Same field, health care. Right now at 6 cents and imo will be over a dollar by April with what is coming.
