I have seen this thing for 30 years and believe it or not most of the time it has to do with the risk management dept of each broker.
They do not want idiots going on margin and buying $500 K of GME and seeing the stock fall 80% in 5 minutes and all of a sudden the person owing the broker $450 K and only having $100 K in their account.
Brokers are there to make a market, facilitate trades, and generate commissions. They are not in the debt collections business.
Under normal circumstances if a person buys on margin, it may take a weeks or months for a stock to drop 80% or more, thereby allowing the broker time to initiate a margin call. But in the case of these MEME stocks, they can drop 80% in 5 minutes and never allow a broker to do that margin call before the investor owes 300% more than his account is worth.
Now, I am not saying in the case of RH that there may not have been some other factors in play as well, but 99% of the time the reason these trading restrictions happen is because the Risk Management Dept orders it.

And let me reiterate this as well.
What we have seen with these Reddit WSB MEME stocks is not just a bunch of kids from a message board getting together and pumping a stock. Or in this case a group of stocks.
This was an orchestrated pump by a fund(s) starting back in November. They all established positions in major shorted stocks, and then put out word to, and are using WSB to not only bring in the buyers from the people that follow them, but from other retail as well. And they support and buy the stock on the way up while they slowly sell their original positions established back in Nov/Dec. WSB does not have anywhere near the $$$ needed to take these stocks up the way they have. It would take $billions. WSB does not have $Billions.
Add in the shorts who had to buy back and this is what we get.
But this is not the little guy screwing over hedge funds. This is one hedge fund, or many, screwing over other hedge funds and using WSB as the face of it.

Over $5 as well.
Their covid treatment drug will get approval soon, and when it does it goes blue skies.

I know him personally. He very rarely shorts. In fact he rarely even buys much anymore. That is a false rumor started over there.

AG, small silver miner with a fairly high short interest, getting a big AH pump (was even higher at pre-market) from the WSB and silver bug crowd.
I doubt that they'll have close to the success of GME or even AMC at fuking the shorts, but I bought a bit at $18 just to see where it goes.

He's crazy and definitely autistic, but it's clear that he's far from retarded.

I could be wrong, but the longs look like they're out of ammunition here. Retail has gotten shut out, and many are scared now. Only possibility I see is if some funds that were sitting this out get the FOMO and jump in to put the final nail on the coffin to Melvin and co.

What is going to happen now is these redditors are going to look for the next sector to pile into.
To me, the gold and silver sector is a no brainer. Gold and silver has been shorted for years. In fact the amount of gold SOLD on paper is 10000000 x that of the real supply..
Any gold and silver stocks just go along for the ride.

There is lot more betting going the other way now.
Feb 19 so much put volume all the way down to $1.
Someone is gonna catch this on its way down.
Today someone bought $2 million put option 1/29 very suspicious right before GME went from $380 down to $120.
Must have cleared insane amount on that put.
