I really like Sucker Punch but for some reason the critics gave it tons of chit. I like pretty much every Snyder movie though. I think he fell out of favor when it was discovered he's a lulbertarian

I have to mention The Game again (I did in a similar thread awhile back), it is engaging and fun and blows you away, particularly the first time you watch it. You go away saying 'Whelp, I won't watch it again since I know the ending' but then watch it multiple times over the years, if you're like me.
Gotta put The Family Man out there, if you're a dude and don't fall in love with Tea Leoni you need to switch teams.

Sleepers
Also, not a lot of people have seen the Before series:
Before Sunrise
Before Sunset
Before Midnight
Without looking, those 3 probably got good ratings, but they arent popular that I am aware of.

Sometimes sexiness ain't all about looks. Anytime she said "Papi" in American Gods I want to rip her clothes off. She's got 'it', with her energy/eyes/lips/body language.

Probably Revolver. Few people actually even heard of the movie despite it being Jason Statham
Lord of War
The Prestige
Lucky Number Slevin
Ex Machina
These movies were generally overlooked despite the casts/directors and when they were watched the ratings were pretty low relatively speaking. I think the reason is because of how complex these movies actually. Most popcorn american audiences cant grasp the intricate plot.
Revolver requires multiple rewatches to really understand most of it, and even then you its complex since its based on game theory which is exceptionally complex (on the level of theoretical physics).
The prestige is actually an incredible piece which can be used to understand how the potential digitization of the human mind could turn out (like in Transcendence). Essentially even if you could move your "soul" into a computer, it couldnt ever be you. Just a perfect copy of you with all your memories. So your copy would assume it worked, when in fact your original "you" died.
Lucky Number Slevin is just another good con movie, all the actors are good in it.
Ex Machina is also probably one of the best movies available on AI and practical applications of the turing test in the future.

ITT everyone posting well recognised rated films.
A real underrated film for example is The Grudge 2004. Poor metacritic score of 49 and an IMDB rating of 5.9, made by the same director who made the original in Japan. The original ratings haven't served it well but for a horror it is way better than the ratings give it.

'Horse girl' with alison brie, it gets crazier and crazier as the movie progresses, I was just choosing a nice movie to sleep to but I couldn't stop watching it.
I watched 'midsommar' yesterday, from the same director as hereditary and it was really really good, florence pugh was amazing.
Mother with jennifer lawrence is amazing from start to finish as well as 'horse girl' this movie gets crazier and crazier as it progresses.
Ammonite too is pretty good.

The Freshman - Marlon Brando somewhat reprising his Vito Corleone role, plus Matthew Broderick, Bruno Kirby and a decent plot
Sunset Limited - Tommy Lee Jones, Samuel L Jackson, a small apartment, and nothing else.

Along with being a block office smash it has a 7.3 on IMBD and an 8.5 user rating on Metacritic.

My picks
Animal Factory - Prison movie starring Willem Dafoe as a prison veteran and Eddie Furlong as a vulnerable raw recruit into the system.
The 13th Warrior - A group of 12 Norse warriors, and an Arabic scribe, travel to defend a remote village from savage, bear-like invaders.
Most French actions movies 'The Nest' and 'District 13' being prime examples.

“The Misc. is a stone-faced Uncle Sam with Popeye’s forearms and a cocked pistol in each hand. It’s a screeching bald eagle with a foreign Bad Thing in its talons. It’s everything that defines America’s bro culture, magnified and weaponized. But it’s deeper than that.“
