Feel good in gym, getting stronger, plenty of energy.....no libido....WTF?

Going on about 4 weeks now that I think about it

Only real change I know is -Adjusted workouts for less volume per session, more frequency over the week. Consciously eating more...mainly carbs (because I had been restricting them) but recovery is good, getting progressively stronger week over week...probably time for a deload....but I literally have 0 libido. Like not even interested, not waking up with morning wood....and now that I think about it I havent had a bonrar in like 4-5 days.

I've even had 2 issues in the last 3 weeks where I lose the ol bonrar durring. Been with the same gal for 7 years and this has NEVER been an issue.

Got my levels checked about 2 months ago and T was 784.

Any suggestions?

Panamania that has maintained her figure. Latinas are my ultimate HNNNG

But lifting promotes release of the testosterones.

What is your fat intake?
My libido is lower when I’m eating a lot of carbs. Might have to do with fluctuations in energy levels if test is normal. Try balancing your macros 33/34/33 for a bit. Should help out and give you steady energy levels all day, plus some extra fat in the diet might help.

Are you stressed about anything like work, etc? Are you taking any new supps or any meds? Do you get a good nights sleep?

Could be anything...

Take a week off to chill and get a good recovery on. Up your fats a little bit and see how you feel in a week.

Other long term options, see a nutritionist to make sure you're meeting your dietary needs. If you're still concerned, go see a urologist.

"more frequency over the week"
How long is each training session now and
compare that to last month hours/minutes vs this month.
I think your body is tired, sometimes more is not better especially if you plan to do this for a lifetime.

i think successful progressive overload isn't necessarily the correct metric

i'd say what he's observing is the most important metric for health in general (sufficient nutrition, sleep, low stress etc."

libido is the ultimate bellwether for health since our entire evolutionary existence is predicated upon it

in any case, it's a really simply thing to test by only changing that one variable by taking a week off and see if his dink gets hard nh

I appreciate the serious response.

I have dropped fat intake a good bit. One of the other things that came up in my tests was that I have high Cholesterol and the doc recommended that I decrease fat intake. So to make up for the loss of calories from fat I increased carbs.

3 days/week, usually Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday. Each workout usually consists of a full body focus.... 2 compounds (1 upper, 1 lower) in the 4-5 sets of 3-6 reps and 3 accessory lifts. I'm purposely trying to reduce volume to increase strength and recovery between sessions.

The fats seem like they might be to blame here. Thanks.

Did you recover from COVID recently?

Took me 2 months after recovery for my body to get back to normal, was like that for a bit, No libido and I even had to struggle with ED during that time (was not fun at all) I got back to normal until I started taking vitamin supplements as my doc suggested. After a week taking vitamin B supplements my body was back to normal. It was VERY scary while it lasted tho.

I started seeing a new girl at the end of that chitty spree and I'm surprised she didn't dump my ass on the spot lol. Now I have my libido back to normal and dick working as it should getting morning wood again and so on I was on the verge of a breakdown when It happened, I was dealing with LOTS of stress too during that time so maybe IT was because of that too, are you feeling stressed lately OP?

I'm 11 years older than you. I think it happens on occasion the body goes through cycles during certain times of the year. Could be normal in this disgusting part of winter. One of the posters above mentioned trib+zinc+D3. Could be worth a shot...Or before bed try a small protein shake (1 scoop) and 1-2 servings of roasted almonds (zinc)

How is your cardio? Increased cardio intensity and frequency can help raise your HDL and lower your total cholesterol more so than a decreased fat intake. Also it depends on the types of fats. You can eliminate some fats and replace them with oily fish, avocadoes, olive oil, etc.

Cardio isn't great. I stopped doing it all together a few months ago......started back up again yesterday. Walk/jogged 2 miles around the neighborhood. I plan on doing this 2-3 times/week to get to where Im back into a 6 minute mile.

Yea the doc said to mainly cut out dairy/cheese fats.....but being the type of person that I am, I literally dropped all. oops

OP, you looked jacked so you should know by now this is a classic case of overtraining.

Doesn't matter if you are 6 days a week or 3 days a week. Your body is trying to tell you something.

Take 1 week off completely and you will feel like a changed man (with raging wood too).

I like this style workout and mine is similar. I do 2 compounds 1 upper/1 lower and 2 accessory lifts. My only thought is if you are doing 3-6 reps with each exercise and every workout, that can be quite taxing. I would suggest to start throwing in scheduled deloads or take a week off.

Like others have stated increasing your fats should help as well.

The thought of a deload came to mind about 2-3 weeks ago. I had made solid, increasing gains for 4 weeks, literally stronger everytime I went into the gym. I restructured my lifting and added a lot more carbs to the diet........but on that 5th week I missed my last set from the previous weeks weight. Should have listened then....seems like I have been pushing past the point of "failure" or "exhaustion" for 2-3 weeks now. results are just so damn addictive and my mentality/ego makes me not want to deload or take a week off.

Will take it easy for a week and up my fats.

Thanks to everyone and reps to come if I didn't already get ya. Honestly a much better turn out of responses than I was expecting considering this being The Misc
