Class of 2008 here. Smart phones were just born. But, their was no social media besides MySpace at the time. Kids back then had personalities and weren't socially crippled like kids of today. We actually went outside and did fun things unlike the kids of today who are in the house stuck on video games and their phones. Quite sad. We millennials were the last generation that was normal and did normal things like the generations before us did.

When I was in highschool, ******** and Twitter were taking off, and you couldn't even DM on Instagram yet.

I'll admit, ******** was MAD convenient for talking to girls at different area schools. But I am jealous of my older sibling who grew up in the AIM/MSN primitive cell phone era with no ******** yet.

All of the "final day of high school" videos are legit the same whether from the 1980's up to current day 2019 (I get that 2020 would've been different due to COVID). It's just young people having a good time enjoying life. Good stuff, it will continue in the future which is great!

The best part is to film that some dude had to carry around a 20 lb giant VHS camera and that was literally the only recording device you had to worry about. You see peoples reactions to being filmed is that its unusual back then- nowdays everyone is glaming for the camera- people act like they are being filmed at all times, and because of social media and camera phones they are being filmed all the time. Its so genuine back then but so fake now.

Yes, people paid each other real attention because they weren't distracted by or addicted to smartphone tech. Real Good times.
Fact: My first-generation uncle was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson! He also fought in the war, sacrificing the career he deeply loved, so people could have the right to freedom.

I am so grateful to have been a teenager in the 90s, and to have graduated HS in 1999. I can only fathom the cringey tweets I would have put out in the world if twitter was around when I was 14.

Funny you say this because before my grandfather passed (RIP) he loved having his photo taken. He grew up poor, so someone with a camera must have money. Even with current cameras if you used filters he would laugh at it.

Newer generations won't enjoy the simple things IMHO.

Yeah, tbh I watched a couple of vids from 2019 the last time a thread like this popped up, and the kids seem to be similar.

It's not fair. I wish I grew up as a boomer, gen Xer, or older millennial. Life was so easy for them and women were not as corrupted.
It was all just satire. Sorry if I offended anyone with my trolling and sickening posts. Peace and love to everyone.
