So brahs, I sorta dun goofd.
Tldr so here's cliffs:
Gf has big family
Member of said family (not directly related) killed themselves recently
I didn't like him and the family knew
Got asked to go to his funeral and I said no
Big argument so I ended with "if I never liked him it wouldn't be right of me to go"
All hell breaks loose
I am heartless

I agree with you, but I'm an autistic FA ******* so what the fuk do I know.
Funerals are about showing respect to the deceased. If you don't respect them, don't fukking pretend you do. If you don't even know who they are, don't fukking pretend you do (God, social media is so performative about that chit).

I wouldn't go just for the fun of it no
But in a situation where someone you care about is distraught you should go and be there to support them, disregarding your personal qualms with the deceased.

It doesn't matter if she has all the friends and family in the world to comfort her. You're the boyfriend. You have to be there for her.

Lol had 2 dudes in my circle die back to back, got drunk afew weeks ago and announced
"I don't really give a chit about person A dying, we weren't super close"
"I didn't even like person B so I really dont care"
But I do get annoyed how now everyone gets drunk and cries about these people, I feel their full of chit.

I would if they were important to those important to me. They need emotional support, I’m a very empathetic person but I think it’s also a common courtesy.

Was in a weird situation like this a year ago. I ultimately decided it wasn't so much about our non-existent friendly relationship and more about paying respects and supporting others who were mourning. I'm glad I went, YMMV.

Seems weird.
But if it was your GF that asked you to go, you probably should, to support her. Otherwise no. WTF is the point of going to the funeral of someone you didn't like?

I wouldn't go if I hated someone. My girlfriend could be a big girl and stick it out with the rest of her family by her side. Fukk I don't even go to weddings of people I do like. I'll send a card with a check. I hate social gatherings of all sorts.

Motherfukker is dead, quit being such an ******* and just pretend you are sorry the wanker died.
And support your girlfriend it’s not about her needing support it’s about YOU showing YOU are there for her.
Or if you are happy being you do that, but normal people do what I said above.

You don’t have to like somone to be like “damn, dude didn’t deserve to die, sorry.”
Being some edge lord going “I didn’t like that *******” is just disrespectful and shows an ugly almost sociopathic autistic side of you, that will make most people turn away from you. Even more so if it’s actually authentic. Especially people with good character.
