WB/HBO Max has been 0-3 for movies so far. WW84, The Little Things, and Judas and The Black Messiah have all sucked. They’re bound to have a good movie eventually.

Lol this. I’ve accepted I’ve got different taste in movies than a lot of misc. Sci-fi is my favorite genre when it’s done right. MK won’t be anything to write home about imo but it should be a fun watch.

Of course it's going to be bad. It's a movie based off of a tournement fighter style video game that experienced the peak of its popularity in the 90's. There's almost zero backstory to work with from the games themselves, and you know damn well that Hollywood writers certainly aren't gonna make up a good storyline for a movie out of nothing.

They're very clearly trying to make it all about the graphics, which is honestly all they really can do trying to make a movie out of such a simplistic video game concept. What made for some awesome, legendary video games in the 90's hardly constitutes what is likely to transfer over well onto a cimenatic/movie experience.

Saw the original in the theater at the tender age of 27. Enjoyed very much.
