Got a question on ethics.

Had dinner with one of my dad's friends (known him 20+ years) with my parents and his family. Started talking about stocks, business, etc. The guy pulls in $200kish in the IT sector, was a previous VP at a major bank, etc. He used to trade the market back in the early 2000s but is now heavily in real estate.

Anyways, he started asking me about the stock market and I told him some of my open positions. Turned out these were big winners, and at first I didn't mind helping him, but it got a little annoying when he started calling me asking if he should sell.

Now he calls me once every day or every other day, and if he can't get through to me he calls my dad, makes some small talk, and asks if I'm around. I clearly told him via text message that I'm busy throughout the day and can't talk, can only text, but he still insists on calling. The dude won't let up.

It's frustrating because he'll call me to ask if I have any good tickers to invest in, but what really gets me is that he asks when to buy and when to sell. I should charge him for that chit because if someone told me not only when to buy, but when to sell, I might as well manage his funds for him.

Am I in the wrong here? Just been avoiding his calls.

So yeah, I’m done appealing to people’s analytical abilities, and now this is more humorous for me. It is funny though that no one that went on a crusade bashing the position admitted they were wrong. Here’s looking at chino lol.

Yeah, it didn’t pan out. There were some reasons that it could have launched. It didn’t, I trust everyone does their own risk management. My calls from that are going to zero, but to be honest, with the risk/reward profile, I’d make that bet 10/10 times. This isn’t an exact scientist. I’m a professional economist, which also isn’t an exact science. Just because something doesn’t occur, doesn’t by default mean it was the wrong move. It fit well within my risk profile.
I still believe if someone invested at $38 pre earnings that they’ll be very happy in 3 years.
