When you literally can't work and are in hell 24/7 due to the worst anxiety known to man with severe chest, stomach pain and feeling like you have 10 million bumble bees in your body, and your heart pounding 24/7, you will crawl to any relief. It's human nature. If a pill from a doctor provides relief, you take it.

It's hard to describe to those who haven't gone through it. Think about the panic attack you had, but then it won't go away and is with you all of the time.

Luckily you didn't take ***** long term as it's one of the most highly addictive benzos. You can get hooked on those after a couple of weeks of use.

Oh OK sorry I shouldn't have assumed.

Maybe mine was so bad as I couldn't function. I didn't want to leave the house and it caused me to make terrible mistakes at work. I started thinking I couldn't go on and tried non medication ways of handling it for 2 years like meditation, yoga, etc., but nothing worked so I finally went with the medication. But now that the DEA has clamped down I'm a mess.

Yes we all have personal responsibility as I crave the opiates given to me after surgeries and my broken face, but I know that the end all is to jump to street drugs and I don't want to do that. Thus, I ignore the cravings for them. Once I threw them away.

dat dopamine rush.

sadly these single mom raised kids don't realize going on vacation, sex and hobbies can give u that same rush without the danger.

but hey, people want that rush NOW. Except, there's always a downside to everything. Hanging wiht losers who do it doesn't help.

Some guy told me that Pondus keeps accusing him of being me lol. Pondus and Kev, sheesh. But they are men close to our age. I mean I’m not mad at that guy who is 46 and dating a 21 year old woman? If he’s happy then who am I to rain on his parade?

I remember reading that article about the family and how they marketed oxy this way.

I have a family member who had back trouble and took the max amount of oxy. It took him 4 years and methadone to get off of it and now he has to take sleep meds, so yet another controlled substance. So much for oxy being non-addictive.

People get addicted to porn/sex. Just not everyone loses their job, house and ends up homeless due to sex as easily as they would to opiates.

If you know you know. Unfortunately it's really popular and trendy to claim anxiety these days and it's been diluted to the point where it's meaningless, not that I ever would share this sort of thing with anybody in real life anyhow.

Have you tried hard cardio at all? Outside of sedatives I don't think anything else comes close in terms of physiological relief, and obviously there is no dependence or negative rebound effects.

The effectiveness of benzos, alongside them not being viable as a long term option, is somewhat torturous. Like what the **** why can't they just make something that is similarly effective that doesn't completely lose effectiveness

Why do so many people have anxiety? I've almost never had anxiety in my life. It's very very rare. I do have mood swings and anger sometimes but never anxiety.

Anxiety is a natural part of life, and also is amplified by unhealthy lifestyles. Maybe that's where some of the surge is coming from. The rest is mostly fetishization of mental illness in my view.

Mine is somewhat genetic. Autism spectrum runs hard in my family, and my father has the same extreme social discomfort that I inherited. It probably served a purpose genetically in certain environments

Yeah cardio helped a little, but when I stopped the anxiety returned. It was so bad that I kept leaving work to walk out in the hills for some relief, only to return to my office and the anxiety surged again. My body could only do so much cardio.

But I was also recently hospitalized for anorexia, so the 24/7 anxiety hit when I was in recovery for 6 months and hated the weight gain. It just didn’t really get handled until Lexapro was invented, and that mixed with Buspar and Benzos.

I think anxiety is worse these days with technology and a fast paced modern lifestyle. We didn’t have this when we worked on farms in the 1800s.

But genetically I had a Grandma who had severe anxiety and was bedridden for 4 years. Luckily she didn’t have to worry about performing at an office job since she was a housewife.

Cute and he's right, you just need cuddles.

I'm not like your friends though because I have mild depression sometimes. But it just makes me want to sleep, not feel anxious. It's like the opposite of anxiety, I feel lethargic.
