New gaming laptop I probably do not need. Should ship out on March 1.



Been almost 5 years to the day since I bought my last laptop so it was time, still runs like a champion but the 970m graphics card is showing its age. 3060 will be plenty enough for a laptop, 3070 would have been $400 or so more, but not in stock at the moment.

I have 2x 3090's.. I use them primarily for deep learning though, and I collect GPU's sometimes so a limited edition card like that would be really nice to have. Plus I want to test its performance.

It's what I'm running on a 9700k too, dead silent. The Corsair AIO in my other rig is louder at any load.

I've been hunting for a 5900x for ~2 months, but was able to snag a 5800x from BB this morning. Here's hoping my spot in the EVGA queue comes up soon for a 3080/3090 (been in it for about 1.5 months). This whole scenario / shortage is fkin ridiculous.

I wanted to build two systems, but since there is no end to the shortage in supply of both CPUs and GPUs I realized that it's actually cheaper to convert my main rig into an ITX build which I can take as hand luggage when I am traveling.

Went with the NR200P, Gigabyte B550i and a SF600 Platinum PSU.
Will be cooling it with air using a Noctua NH-U12P since I don't want to be questioned in the security check about the liquid substance (if they do check) in the computer.

Got my 3090 from the queue. Haven't been able to find a 5900 though. Decided to just move forward with the 5800.
