Gamer Nexus is cool. Jayztwocents is my go to tech channel though. He also looks like he lifts even a bit, compared to Steve lol so that gives me more motivation to continue lifting even while majority of my time is spent gaming.

Jay is a car guy so he gets the nod. Linus has become more commercial than tech-focused. GN is appreciated for the deep, giggity, controlled testing.

I like Jays for entertainment and knowledge, then Pauls hardware for builds and more digestible information pertaining to details of equipment and Gamer Nexus confuses me as I don't know a whole lot of about pc parts but enjoy PC Jesus talks. When they start talking specifics and specs and in depth things I try to keep up.

They are not worth the upgrade over the consumer line unless your software locks you out.

But that was after a few hours of gaming - haven't tried a "stress test" neither does it really count because I have the front and back panels off still. The backplate has thermal pads at least. The stock plate had nothing iirc in the form of thermal contact pads on the back - so the passive cooling should be better than stock. That being said, the pump (D5) and fans on my curve aren't even above 50% at 40 degrees. it was still dead silent.Clean build
Only thing missing is a watercooled backplate?
How is your memory junction temps with "just" the front watercooled?

Since you've never played one, I recommend 10 HD Remastered. The graphics wouldn't feel so outdated and you'd still experience the classic Final Fantasy turn-based fight system.
7 Remake has a really good modern graphics but different fighting style. For an authentic Final Fantasy experience, go with 10 HD Remastered first.

Any brand recommendations for a gaming desktop? Haven’t kept up with the latest graphics cards. What’s a good med- to high end card? Also, any recommendations on monitors that are easy on the eyes?

We have a situation where nvidia (and amd) released some really good cards with a competitive price in the middle of a locked down world + a mining boom since the crypto market is going crazy (the same as wall street).
Recommended cards: 3060Ti is probably the most decently priced card if you can get it at msrp (no chance). 3080 is quite good. You can't get that at msrp either since it's a really good card which even with a 20% markup isn't bad compared with the 2080ti retail pricing.
Monitors, you have to say what you'll use it for. Gaming, media consumption, editing, office work etc. You also need to say if you prefer 24 inch 360hz monitor or a 27 inch or maybe even a 38 inch ultrawide.
Brand recommendations btw - I just used the Dell advanced monitor exchange the other day and got a brand new one with a newer revision and firmware that supposedly was gonna remove the coil whine from the monitor and help the freesync with less flimmer. They delivered the new one and picked up the old one the day after. 10/10 service.

Monitor will likely be 24” for gaming, but office use. Want something that’s easy on the eyes. I can feel my vision declining as I get older and from looking at smartphone and monitors all day. Monitors look quite affordable from $200-400 each.
Have had good experience with Dell in the past. Been using an ASUS laptop for the past 4 years and it’s been solid. Alienware? What about the ibuypower comps on Amazon. Seem to get good reviews.
