Holy fuuuck, that must feel like a living nightmare for that family. Yeah, the mom dumb af for not looking at her boys report card but how did the school let him advance? Time to defund Baltimore public schools, those lazy phucks can’t justify their paychecks.

Another functional member of society getting pushed through the system.

Although they definitely need to look at that school if the kids kept getting advanced grades when he was obviously never there and dumb as a rock.

Apparently up to 40% of minority children can't even read by the age of 17 in the US.

The school obviously suck but how does the kid get through 4 years of school and not passing any classes with out his parents knowing. Do they not issue grade cards anymore?

As we dig deeper into her son’s records, we can see in his first three years at Augusta Fells, he failed 22 classes andwas late or absent 272 days. But in those three years, only one teacher requested a parent conference, which France says never happened. No one from the school told France her son was failing and not going to class.
It's always the parent's fault. The school didn't fail him, his ignorant single parent household did. Of course no one will tell her that I grew up in one of the worst cities in the US, and went to school in one of the worst school districts in the US, yet here I am doing pretty well for myself.

I bet this kid knows all the NFL stats, is a pro at Madden, and knows all the lyrics to all the mumble rap out now.

I know this all too well having worked in inner city public high schools. It can be a mad house there and a lot of times teachers are so frustrated and upset because you've got some really rough kids who mess up the entire class and completely ruin any possibility of learning. Fights often break out; kids misbehave with the teacher; and it's hard for a teacher (especially female teachers) to get any kind of control.

however it is probably accurate that the Baltimore school system sucks, I think I read that somehow they are one of the worst but receive the most funding per capita per student.

throwing money at something with corruption and mismanagement doesn't make anything better, and makes everybody worse off for it.
